I agree pick the sire and dam and then just reach in a pick a pup of the sex you want, unless there is something you can not stand trait wise that will cause you not to hunt the pup

I look at proper bite, both testicles, crooked leggs, ear set and length, color is important to some, personality and dark eyes.

Also pinch the pup on the knap of the neck and urge it toward the other pups and you. Cull in your mind the ones that drop their ass and skid breaks. Works for me even when I own the whole litter. LOL

I can train an agreeable dog ten times easier than one I got to fight with.

i dont know if this is true or not, but i read this one time. a long time ago the men would make a circle with dry grass, and put the pups in the middle of it. then they would set the dry grass on fire, then they would turn the mama dog loose, the mama dog would jump over the fire to get her pups. the first pup the mama dog would grab and jump back across the fire is the pup the men would keep lol. dont know if this is true, or if it is if it would work, i just read it and it made me always wonder.lol
