Ok. I'm a Nubian person.
I have some very good Nubian bloodline semen to sell if you know anyone in the dairy goat business.
I also do AI service on Dairies.
Thanks,
Jeremy

I have two off brand males I would like to get collected and stored just in case I ever want to go back to them. I figure ten straws from each dog should be enough. I am not a big time breeder. If you came to the Grand American how much would it cost and how much per year?

When is Grand America?
I haven't gotten set up for collections or storing, so don't want to give prices or promises on being able to do it.
If I can get enough people wanting collection and storage, I can do a run down a lot cheaper.
Let's keep this post active and see where it takes us.
A traveling Collection and storage business is coming more and more into play.
Thanks,
Jeremy Mollett

I used to fool with Nubians a little bit. My buddy has several Nubians. He has several from willow run when they sold out. He has a doe named Perjury from willow run that is nice. I'll let him know if you want to pm me your number I'll give it to him

My vet charges me ninety bucks she checks the fertility of the male and then transfers to the female that's collected and breeding the female three times. but she doesn't store it. but that's a very reasonable rate i think its working mans price.

I've had one female surgically implanted and I would have to be desperate to get a litter of pups to ever do that again. My female went off feed for three days after the surgery and had me pretty worried she may get down and die.

I've had Bitzel do two AI breedings without doing surgery and got pups from both litters. I would recommend using Bitzel and staying away from other vets wanting to use surgical insemination. If someone is good with breeding females they shouldn't need to do the surgery.

As you know credentials isn't needed in the AI business, but Rest assure I have taken 3 years Undergrad in Veterinary Technology and finishing up my Dr. degree in DVN
I have been trained by the best. I've interned with several large animal Veterinarians and several mixed practiced Vet's.
anyother questions let me know.
Surgical implantations isn't going to be done in my business.
I personally believe that if AI'ing doesn't catch if you caught the female at the right time doing a progesterone level test, than she isn't wanting to be bred. Could be a Variety of causes.
Thanks,
Jeremy

I think its a great ideal. I think most coon hunters will agree when I do have a male pulled I rather pay a fellow coon hunter to do it then some vet that dont hunt. I believe you could have alot of business. If you go to the big Hunts you will stay busy the whole time I would bet on that.

I ran some Test on 4 Different Freeze Extenders, The one I was using One Extender From Partners Animal Health But The DryIce Shipping Cost Doubled to $78 Just for Shipping of their Product !!!!! .. So Out of the 4, I had the Very Best Results with "Canine-EXT" Plus they Send enought Product to Collect on 7-10 Dogs depending on concentration of the Sample .. Above All other Products on the Market when Freezing in Straws and Pellets I have been getting around 92-94% Thaw Recovery with the EXT .. Which I belive is the Org. Canine Freeze Extender "Uppsala Equex Formula" .. Also If you have a Compounding Pharm near you they can make it ..

For Both Canine-EXT Part A and Part B inc. Shiping cost around $62 plus Glyceral for another $5.00 and 3 Egg Yokes .. so say $70.00 and like I said you can collect on at least 7 Large Hounds with that Order .. $10.00 Per Extended Dog .. Thats Cheep to Put up !!

!!!!! Very Important about this Extender (And any Other Used) is a Very Accurate Sperm count of a Finished Pre Freeze Count of 200 Million Sperm per ML !!!!

I use 2 different Counting Methods .. A stright Manual Count and a On Screen Computer Count .. The On Screen allows me to Sort out the Dud Sperm like Double Heads, Bent Tails, Mid Segment ect. As shown in this Photo I took .. Red maked Sperm are Defective Blue are Mature Sperm .

Sending Frozen Sperm Is a Whole Different Game !! Its Very Costly both in Equipment and Shipping .. I shair a Vacuum Shipper with a Local Boar Goat Farm ..

When Posible Fresh Chilled Semen is the Only way to go and I have been using Dr. Kenny with A&K pen. and Have had Sperm at 4^C in the Frig up to 7 days at 58% Live and Spun and Re-extended then Extracted most all of the Live Sperm .. (After Re-Extention let the sample to Rest for 2 hours the Dead Sperm will fall to the Botom of the Cenrifuge Tube then only Extract the Upper column of Fluid)

There are 3 Major Factors to Extending Semen !!!!!!!

Equal Temperture of both Semen and Extender .. Temperture Shock Kills !! This is why I like to use a Incubater over depending over using Room Temp. "just put your Semen Centrifuge Tube and Extender Centrifuge tube in the Incubater and allow to Equlize"

PH of the Semen !! If theres a Variance in PH then the Extender must be added Very Slowly and may take as long as 10 min. "Just like Adding New Fish to a Aquariam, Allow the "Fish over time to adjust to PH and Temp"

Extended Semen Count !!!

my vet here (who has a collection, storage, and everything facility) told me he charges $45 for A.I. if both male and female are present. He may have gone up since he got into his new building, but the $200 seems quite high. A guy told me the other day, his vet told him $500. That's crazy. It only costs $300 to collect and store for the first time and around $125 for later collections.

Just send your cheek swab to PKC or UKC for DNA (cost $45), and you will get the report.

RedTide, That is a cheap deal.
If everyone had a good vet around that done it that cheap then I wouldn't be considering a business of such.
Lot's of people are having trouble with traveling to a professional and I was looking into helping solve that problem.
DNA will not be a problem with doing. I can do that at cost and do a blood sample and cheek swab.
Hope we keep getting responses.
Thanks,
Jeremy
