no ,i dont think old banjo started the finley river line ,but he was in the finley river banjo dog. from what i've seen there are not too many people promoting the pure finley river line nowadays. if more people dont start saving some of this good old blood and quit jumping on the bandwagon of (whatever is selling wagon)we're all going to loose out when all those

my old hawk dog was linebred finleyriver(f.r.chief/f.r.joe/f.r.banjo/b.r.queen) on the top side and linebred old house blood(double old clint/cruze) on bottom and was all coonhound when you turned him loose.

Know one individual that I've ever known gave old Banjo more credit that Joe House himself.He absolutley told many customers & poeple that just called & asked questions that his dogs were heavily linebred on Johnsons Banjo. He also told me he bred to Hickory Nut Harry to take some of the go power out & put tree power in his dogs. He also stated that this helped with trash problems. Without a doubt Joe House was the best breeder ever in the Walker bloodline, buit he gave credit where credit was due. Without a doubt though Mike Dohoney & his line of dogs have definitley made an impact in the Walker breed too. Boone really threw some nice & sought after reproducing females for sure that crossed exceptionally well on many strains in the breed. I myself have owned a few nice direct Boone females & wish I still had a few of them to raise from today.

Mr les. Do you know many studs with dohoney up real close. My female has dohoney in her 3rd Gen and 4th Gen.

O'Neil's Lobo Benson has Boone in his 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation. He also has House's Lipper and Kansas Dancer in his 3rd generation. I have a female that has Boone twice in her 3rd generation, and will be breeding her to Benson as soon as she comes in.

You'll be hard pressed to find Boone up closer or more times than these two. Most pups off of them start early and finish out to be nice hounds.

I've bred to Benson two or three times each cross threw some really nice hounds. Several of the guys that own pups off of them say they are the BEST dog they have ever owned.
