Both sides of my family have always own some type of treedog. They came from Kentucky and they used the dogs to put meat on the table....The first reg dog they owned was redbones. My Grandfather Brack McCreary bought them for the boys to hunt.Didnt work out..The first day when my uncle bill went to feed them. They growled and tryed to bite him..The big cur dog they had jumped in between my uncle and the dogs...The cur killed both dogs...Grampa was not too happy HE was a Minister...He said it was ment to be......After that they got Black-n-Tans had good luck with them......My moms dad Abe Holcomb. As far as I know he always had Black dogs. All the pictures of his dogs are black-n-tans.When I was a little kid I can remember his dogs being so much bigger than the Black dogs you see today.I think the smallest dog he had was about 80-90 pounds....The first time I went hunting I was 5 years old...I can remember it like it was yesterday......This fall it will make 42 years Ive hunted.....Ive never missed a opening night...My hunting buddy Alan Wetzel And I have hunted together.. It will be 25 strait opening nights together this fall......Every opening night all our buddys get together at the localTruck stop on I-70 and state road one..We have a real good time. We have about 20-30 guys meet every year........................................

Mackie Manns & Bud Smith

These 2 guys got me started in coon Hunting when I was 19 years old and Mack still hunts til this day and Bud Smith doesn't hunt any more and I am very greatful they did because its been alot of fun for me and I have met alot of good coonhunters and houndsmen thru out the years and I'm 39 now. Thanks Mack and Bud for bringing me into such a great sport and one of our forefathers past times. John

in 1974.. Cliff Brown and his son Tom from outside of Bridgeville,Pa. got me started. They had Hussler bred Blueticks that were great tree dogs. Been a dyed in the wool bluetick man ever since.
