Old Swamp was a coondog and a reproducer. We have a female out of Swamp and a sister to Rank that has produced five nite ch.'s with one more only needing a cast win out of her first twelve pups.

I believe Swamps potent reproducing ability is partly due to him being from a half brother, half sister cross.

Donnie, I saw where you posted on the "Lipper Semen" post, wonder how your Swamp bitch would cross on it. That would be Lipper + Lipper (Swamp) + Lipper (Rank) = ???? Funny thing is you don't see a lot of Lipper Semen pups winning, wonder why?

From what you guys have seen, have you seen any pups out of Swamp that were tight-mouthed or silent?

Anyone hunted with the Seven Mile Swamp dog before?
What did think of him (hunting style, mouth, tracking, etc.)?
I noticed from some of the recent pups on the way list, that there's alot of females being bred to him (mostly the owners) during the last few months. If you don't want to post it,shoot me a PM.

The one's I have seen either opened just right or a little more than what I would like. Never a silent or tight mouthed one though.

How old would Swamp be if he were still alive?

Was the cross that produced Swamp made again?

Are there any females out there still able to have pups bred the same as Swamp?

Seven Mile Swamp is directly out of Swamp. He is a trailing to running type hound that will usually produce plus points. He will tree with other dogs or get off by himself. I have hunted with him a couple of times. Looked pretty good each night I hunted with him.

He deffenitely looks like he is going to reproduce. His oldest litter just hunted their one year old Super Stakes. He had a pup that won the baby stakes. He had a pup take second in the one year old futurity. I am within a hour drive of Swamp, and I have hunted with pups out of a couple different litters.

He is throwing smaller built dogs that are a little tighter on ground, independant, and like to have coons. He is deffenitely worth considering when breeding.

Plus, I do not own a hair on him or get any kick backs for telling you this.LOL

Hey Colby,
I know where there are pups like you just described about 25 miles South and just a little east of you. Go for a hunt with them and see.

As for the Swamp dogs--I have probably hunted as many Maniac bred dogs as anybody out there. They generally have the same traits. As any line of dogs--they have their faults, but overall I have really liked them.

Take care buddy and save a few coons for me!!

Rick Lynch's Mac dog in OK or the 7 mile Swamp dog either one would be good ones to breed to or get a pup off of I think!!! I owned a pretty good Swamp dog myself and would love to have her back for a few more years, I miss her from time to time!

Colby, the pups I was referring to are out of lil girl and my male, and my Kane female and my male. It will be a few more months before they are ready for the hunts. I am selling my Kane female though.

My dog has Medleys hardwood swamp in the 3rd generation. Mike Knuckels owns Kings Hardwood Ranger that is a Grandpup to Swamp. Im not sure but I don't think there is any frozen semen on Psycho. Psycho was directly out of Swamp. Conrad Fryar could tell yall all about him. My dog comes from these bloodlines also.
