hunting guide sends buddy in 15 minutes ahead of cast to lay a drag to tree that has no leaves or holes that all dogs will get minused on then lays back for last strike and last tree to only be 50 in hole after first drop making it hard to beat him 50 points is easy to make up -225 is hard to recover from

Only one of those was a buddy system vote, and one of those guys didn't have a clue what was going on. My losses usually came from poor performance from what I was leading.

same result though, the remedy is the poison. you were in good company or kept it straight if only saw cheating 2 times cause it happens much more. theres no room for honesty in some clubs, it hinders the promotion of somes agenda to make money. ever bought a dog that was not what it was said to be?

they would just pick the buckets up before the hunt this is a common complaint but when you are hunting for placement and the other guides are hunting over feeders won't you be putting your cast at a disadvantage if you dont?

None of this is new to the hunts. I think it falls into the same category as the dogs were better way back when. We tend to remember the good times from our past.

Its not whether the judge is a non-hunting or a hunting judge its whether he has the ability to know/understand what dogs are doing and then has the kahunas to make the right call.

Don't forget the dark spot!! Had a shure enough big winner I was hunting against. Dogs treed in a single solitare pine you could shine from all sides and underneath. He saw a little "dark spot" lol and called us over to verify it. Hell, when you cut your light off it was jus a hole with no pine needles . LOL Cut your light off and there was a star in the sky you could see through that hole LOL. I lost a lot of faith in that Grand night Champion that night and glad I did . He was bred right but none of his offspring ever amounted to a rats ass.

I volunteered to guide at the Grand American. 10,000 acres and an ass of coons. So, if I was going to guide I was going to hunt. turns out another guide stepped forward and instaed of us going 65 miles to hunt , he had a good place on my county side of the orangeburg side of the Edisto River. This felller decided he had a young dog to sell and He decided on his own that I was the one that wanted him, LOL So the hunt proceeds and the dogs tree on the bank of the Edisto. It could have been waiste deep but it was a vertcle 15 ft drop to the water which it was because it was dry . He backed himself looking for the coon so hard till he backstepped off the bluff , but we were there and charged down the hill and saved him. We get back to the fairgrounds And he still wants to show me what his dog can do. I said man it is already 1;30 AM and it will take an hour and ahalf just to get to my place ; to which he informed me, that the guide where we just had hunted had left the gate open.

well fellows, there aint a GD F,n Way I would go in there if i had even had a dog left in there without calling the original guide. That was also in the 80s

I don't see where things have changed much though.
