I've got over 55k on a set of 35'' Maxxis Bighorns on my 98 z71 on a 6 inch lift. They still have plenty of tread left, and I was NOT as vigilent as I should have been about rotating, balancing, and aligning them.

My 2500HD has 35'' Nitto Terra Grapplers on it still from when I bought it last summer. I'd say they have around 20k on them, and they need to be replaced. No way I would pay $350 each for them myself...I'll be going with the Maxxis Bighorns on it as well next month.

I put 86,000 on the set of Michelins that came on my Tacoma. I'm on my 3rd set of tires since and have averaged about 42,0000 per set. I should have replaced the Michelins with Michelins but didn't want to spend the extra money that it would have cost me. Looking back, it probably would have saved me some money.

The trick is getting soft tires that seem more like rubber than some of those hard kind ... gravel will eat those hard tires for lunch .

The Yokohama are similiar to Michelin but these things are better in rain or sleet and stuff .... they dig down to the pavement better than anything I've seen.

I put right at 90,000 on a set of Toyo tires. Not cheap but they are worth it.

We have gotten 30,000 + on our Bridgestone DL (2011 Dodge Big Horn) with plenty tread left on them. Rotate everytime, on time. We'll probly sell the truck before we need tires.

You'll be sorry you bought the nexen mt even though they are cheaper they don't last. My brother has some on an old f150 and the front ones ain't lasted 5000 miles.

You were right, I regret not going back to the BFG. No comparison in ride. I actually hate the ride and noise of the Nexens. Maybe I can get the tire store to swap.

5000 miles is about right for a Ford front end. I was raised up in a Ford family. Them old twin-I beam suspensions are tough, but hard on tires.
