I remember one night as a young teenage boy when me and a friend came out of the woods with a grade bluetick, 7 opossums and 2 coon. We thought we had the best night of hunting ever. I don't think a night like that would bring nearly as much joy to my life now as it did then.

Over the years I've come accross more than one fresh killed possum in the woods and never heard a bark. Quess those dogs were "dead broke" coon dogs.

You should try walking to a bayed pup and get there and a dead possum laying beside a hole. In this hole being bayed is a possum on the half shell. I think the diller must of fought the possum to the death for refuge
