These are my 13 year old twin daughters, Bethany above and Sarah below, on their first ever turkey hunt.

Bethany won a free turkey hunt donated by Richard Wooten in Harrison, Kentucky. Bethany was in the blind for only 15 minutes when this big guy came to within 25 feet of her blind and put on a strutting show. When he finally turned to walk towards the other turkeys she made a good shot on him and harvested her first turkey! He had a 9" beard and 3/4" spurs.




That same afternoon I took Sarah to my dad's place for a hunt. We sat in the blind for two hours before we heard one. After some coaxing during the next hour we finally got him to come in. It was two of them! When she shot I was worried she may have got both of them but it all turned out good and she only hit the one. Sarah's turkey had a 9 1/2 " beard with 3/4" spurs.

These girls love to coon hunt and I thought I was the happiest dad on earth when they first showed interest in it. But being right next to both of them on their first ever turkey hunt are hunts I will never forget. I encourage all dads to take their kids hunting or fishing. The experiences will last a lifetime!

Some nice birds and exciting hunts represented on here!

Here's a 21 lb bird called in by my son last Thurs. 3/4" spurs, 11 inch beard.


My son went with me this morning and called this bird in and I did the shooting: 19 lb, 3/4 & 1" spurs, 10.5" beard.

ohio season just came in monday. today was my first hunt. called in 2 nice toms and 15 or so hens. took a little work but got them into 35 yards and my buddy missed them both. lol. theres always tomorrow!!
