Thank you all so very much. I got almost zero sleep last night. Didn't actually fall alseep til sometime after 8 am. My mind is in a whirl and I keep seeing everything all over again when I close my eyes. His viewing is tonight and funeral tomorrow, on his mother's birthday.

The people that responded have a madatory CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management) meeting this evening also. I spoke with my aunt this morning and she told me Natasha won't wash the blood from her hands and the clothes she had on, she wrapped up like a baby bundle and is carrying that around like it is Leeland.

Please keep those prayers coming.

No one can say they know how that feels and it is always sad when a family member is lost.

A preacher once told a man that had just lost his son. That he was sorry for his loss and that he would help him any way that he could. The man was very bitter and responded no one can help me because they dont know how I feel.

The preacher paused and then responded Sir. you are right I don't know how you feel but I can put you in contact with a man that does.

For God so loved the world..... St. John 3:16

I was a full time paramedic for 15 years, I know and understand YOUR pain, and have seen and felt that same pain myself

First and foremost, TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. Make sure you attend, AND PARTICIPATE in the debriefing... Acknowledge your feelings. You are in a very tough situation because responding to that kind of incident will shake even the toughest among us....and add to that it is your family....

Thank you all so much for the thoughts and prayers.

Leeland was laid to rest yesterday afternoon in one of the places he loved to play in the most, his own backyard. Since pink was his favorite color and he loved John Deere tractors, pink and green balloons were released. Maybe one will find it's way to Heaven and he can run around showing everyone what his daddy, mommy and brother sent to him. Regardless, he is with Jesus now and will never feel anything but happiness, his loss will be felt for many, many years to come and he will never be forgotten.
