Yes, I know you can score a caught coon or a place of refuge without treeing the dogs. But the very first post makes it clear that no one ever saw the dogs in a place of refuge and nobody ever saw the dogs catch a coon so neither applies to this question and that is why I said there is nothing to score except whether or not one dog quit and came in.

Yes I know but the way what you posted read made it seem like somebody had to tree their dog.

I know you didn't mean that, just sayin that's kinda how it read and I was clarifying that.

That's a problem with message boards, the post doesn't come across as intended.

I just wanted to head that one off before it started (as we have seen on here many times before there are plenty of folks that THINK a dog has to be treed before you can score anything).

IF YOU IGNORE THE DOG THAT 'CAME IN' LONG ENOUGH IT WILL BECOME APPARENT IF THE DOG CONTINUES HUNTING OR HAS IN FACT QUIT A TRACK!!! THE FACT THAT SOME DOGS WENT THE OTHER WAY AFTER THE COMMOTION IS NO INDICATOR THAT THEY DIDN'T QUIT THE TRACK ALSO, THEY WERE JUST LUCKY ENOUGH NOT TO BE SEEN!!! IF YOU MINUS THE DOG BASED ON HUMAN INTERFERENCE, YOU'VE JUST CREATED A NEW STRATEGY FOR MINUSING OUT THE COMPETITION-RUN STRAIGHT TOWARD THEM AS SOON AS THEY STRIKE IN HOPES OF MAKING ONE QUIT THE TRACK!!!

Welp here is what they decided to do and I agreed with it like I said my dog was not struck with them thought I heard him during comotion but all happened so fast the judge and guide were through the woods before I could call him struck we voted to delete their strike points because
A: we felt we interfered with the dog that we seen and didnt think it right to minus him
B: we felt the track was ended cause dogs had caught coon
C: didnt think we could plus them cause we never seen the coon
D: didnt think it was right to circle them cause circle points can in some instance win the cast if you have same amount of plus points and I wasnt given the chance to strike my dog in with the other two
I think we made right decision considering circumstances and this will prob never happen again but was just wondering what the official rules said we should do

I think ya'll did the best in your situation. I do have a comment about those that say read and know the scorecard on many posts. That is simple enough. And then there is the Advisor you would do well to memorize as well. Almost everyday someone asks a rule question after the dust has settled. This was not a "time" question and it should be a simple one as compared to a time question. Yet, there are several opinions on the interpretations of the "rule" on the back of the card. My comment concludes that coonhunting is a complicated business and maybe a judge needs an Esquire title after his name. LOL
