How dose the coon get the corn if you bury the bucket with a 6 inch hole in it filled with corn and water. Don't want to sound stupid don't see how that work's. I have feeder's out with soured corn in them but thay aren't as deep as a 5 gal bucket .

Easy solution to this problem at big events

Do like the bass tournaments do. Anyone registered in the event has the right to call out someone in the event and they must take a lie detector test or forfiet there position in the event. I they pass, person who questioned it pays the $250 for the liers test!! If they refuse, they throw them out!! This is what we do in all the areas larger bass tournaments we fish in. Seen 2 times people called out and they passed the test on both ocassions. UKC, has the power to controll these events, just put it into thier bylaws and make something happen. If it's an honest score, winner will have nothing to worry about and it takes the ? out of play!! OK, UKC!! When's it going to happen??

hey , easy on the name calling and stuff. The post about 17 -18 coon is to find out what people are baiting with to draw in large amounts of coon not to talk about what people believe in at a hunt and whether someone is cheating or not. Thats why I dont hunt the hunts much , So just for the record, I could care less how many coon were treed on a cast, I just want to know what the best bait is. PERIOD... It has nothing to do with being NAIVE or full of CRAP SIR !!

Dog food seems to be the best bait, I've used it for years. With the new baiting law (we have a bear season) I can't use dog food any more. I've changed to sour corn in an open 5 gal bucket buried in the ground. The corn works about half as good.

Best Thing

I have never thought about bringing the coon to the dog ( using feeders ) but suppose if you are only wanting to get your hound a on score card quick this would be the idea thing. Thats why there is a difference in coon hunting and playing the game of competition coon hunting . Not bashing anyone here guys so please don't start defending you or your dog. I get a high knowing a dog that I feed needs no feeders to make him , hunt, strike tree a coon and same way as training a young dog let she/he do it naturally . Coon in these hills of Kentucky in the winter makes for great hunts but if you have not a dog that will go hunting you will come up short and disappointed , So get you a line of dogs that go hunting and don't need you bringing the coon to them.
