Ya I got shot at within seeing distance of my house. We cut loose at my house and the dogs treed in just a min. I could see my porch light when my neighbor shot the tree right above my head. We had been hunting there for a month. He told the cops he thought we were drug dealers. Haha

yes and yes...just shot at once...held at gun point twice...one time in the 80's grandpa was hunting and had permission to be where he was at some guy owned a acre of land and thought he owned the mountain..he started slingin lead toward grandpa and 2 buddies of his while they were on the way to get the dogs..grandpa was a marksmen til the day he died..he told me he leaned up against a poplar and shot out the porch light...needless to say the man went back inside and turned all the lights in the house off and they never had any problems again...lmao

Never had someone hold a gun on me but have been in the woods when I thought I was the only one hunting and have a shot go off close to me by someone who was trespassing. Sort of makes you want to get close to the dirt.

Some of those who are quick to draw down on someone need to wise up. There's more than a few hunters who have served in active duty combat situations and that could bring out the highly trained warrior reaction no matter what age they are now. Some vets do fine and are able to keep things in control but stress and other factors can trigger some PTSD reactions when the tunnel vision starts.
