Larry, I carry a similar looking Ruger 10/22. Seems like mine has a longer barrel though.
Brogy- good call on the emergency blanket. I also keep lots of spare polar fleece clothes- never know when you might get cold and wet. I had to spend 15 minutes in crotch deep swamp rescuing dogs last week. Wading through ice water....
Clothes were more important than gun that night...

Nice gun Jim. Now I just carry a Ruger pistol on my belt. Have a Marlin Stainless Steel tube fed .22 LR semi auto I could use if I wanted to but the pistol does fine for me.

Here's the Marlin rifle. Pretty nice little gun. Very accurate and dependable.

Pistols just make too much noise for me. In the farming area I am in, sometimes I am close to farm homes and I don't care to make any more ruckus than necessary.

Oh I have lots of other in my storage boxes too. A change of clothes, stuff to make a fire if needed, emergency medical stuff...you name it I got it! Have made good use of it too. If you ever need it you'll see that it is something you need to have.

We carry the plinkster rifle or a 22 revolver. I would love to get my hands on a marlin papoose rifle though.

x2. For once I actually agree with Ron.

We can't use a semi-auto for hunting here in PA. I pack an old Marlin bolt that was my grandfathers. I should retire it for that reason, but I'm sure he's smiling knowing that it's what I take.
