You can say what you want but I watched an old female of my dads train pup after pup. Nothing will take the play out of a pup like a good motherly touch. Not eating them up but a little nip. If you watch a mother dog bare her teeth at her pups and they know what it means. I had a female that would put up with it for a while from a pup but an old dog better not push her or jump and land one her. She seemed to know the difference between the two and she trained several pups for me. There is a big difference between a mean dog and a dog that just wants to be left alone to do its job. A dog jacking the tree, facebarking, or pushing on another dog is one of three things. A bully, an idiot, or just plain mean. A good pup trainer will teach a pup when it is time to play and a time to be serious. JMO
