Congrats on the find,, this is why I posted the pics..

The next good mushroom around here to find are the Oyster, I have always called them tree mushrooms..a good cool snap with a cold rain ,and you will see them growing on trees.

yea we have had some 40 degrees nights up here and touch of frost so keep close eye on weather . 40 and 50 degree nights i would start looking then

mushrooms

they say the hen of the woods mushroom can grow to be hundred pounds. I pick them if they are as big as football or bigger. i never found one bigger than a basketball yet though. its probably getting close for you down there too with the weather they say late sept early oct.
