BRING IT TO SOUTHERN INDIANA PLENTY OF COON AND PLENTY OF GOOD HUNTING. AND IT IS CENTRALY LOCATED. FIRST WEEK OF NOV WOULD BE GOOD LEAVES GONE.

I agree, bring your snow shoes to FLORIDA. Oh, don't forget your coondog. You guys run your mouth because your scarred to hunt in Florida. Our gators and snakes don't bite hard around Febuary. Plus, theres no leaves on the trees. Makes for some fine hunting.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE WORLD HUNT HELD IN KENTUCKEY OR TENNESSEE, IN NOV. OR DEC. WITH NO LEAVES.BUT I AM ALSO GLAD TO SEE IT MOVED AROUND, IT IS ONLY FAIR BECAUSE YOU HAVE DOGS ALMOST FROM EVERY STATE. TRUE SOME STATES HAVE MORE COONS THAN OTHERS, BUT A MAN CAN SEE A REAL COONDOG IN ACTION WHERE THE COON ARE THIN. WHO NEEDS 1000 PLUSE POINTS WHEN ANY PLUS POINTS DOES JUST AS GOOD. KEEP IN MIND ALL THE DOGS HAD PLUS POINTS FROM THE ZONE THAT THEY COME FROM, TO GET TO THE WORLD HUNT.....JUST MY OPIONION.........EVERONE HAVE A SAFE HUNTING YEAR......

Chris you're right I got my hunts mixed up. I can't remember exactly what his score was down there but I know he made it in the top 20 dogs.

...there is some good hunting in the middle of the state of NC where I undersand the next world hunt will be. The middle section of northern NC and some southern sections of VA is probably where most casts will wind up. Pretty good hunting and not horrible terrain, honest.

WHERE THEY HOLD THE WORLD HUNT, BUT I HERE ALL
THESE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT FEEDER BUCKETS.
I"M JUST POSTING THIS WHERE PEOPLE WILL KNOW
WHY WE USE THEM. THE TRACTS OF LAND THAT MOST OF
US HAVE TO HUNT ARE VERY SMALL & THE ONLY REASON
WE USE THEM IS TO TRY & KEEP THE DOGS IN POCKET,
BECAUSE IF YOU DON"T YOU WILL BE IN A MESS MOST
OF THE TIME. ITS VERY HARD TO FIND ANYONE TO LET YOU
HUNT ON THEIR LAND ANYMORE, AND DUE TO GATES, BLOCKED ROADS ECT... YOU ALMOST HAVE TO USE FEEDERS. THE
FEEDERS DON"T WORK ALL THE TIME ANYWAY, IF THEY
FEED EARLY YOUR NOT GOING TO TREE REAL QUICK ON THEM
& USALLY WIND UP GETTING DEEP SO THE FEEDERS FOR
US ARE JUST TO TRY & HELP A HANDLE ON THE DOGS.


I"VE HUNTED IN 12 DIFFERENT STATES & HAVE WON CAST
IN MOST OF THEM WITH +POINTS SO I DON"T THINK IT
REALLY MATTERS IF YOU HUNT ON FEEDERS.


NOT SPEAKING FOR EVERYBODY THOUGH
I JUST WANTED PEOPLE TO KNOW WHY SOME
PEOPLE HUNT ON THEM.

Having grown up in PA and going back East regularly there is no way I would want my hound turned loose back there with all the no-trespassing signs and with how grown up it is. I now live in central MO and would have to say MO would be a great choice. There are thousands and thousands of acres of land available. If you went to North MO it would be more like Indiana or Ill with lots of corn and coons or you could go to south MO and see who has a dog that will hunt and find a coon in thousands of acres of hard woods and hills.

There are more than enough clubs and hotels to support the hunt as well as fair grounds and areas to hold it available. It is more central than any other state so the drives would be more in line for every one.

Myself personally I would love to see a hunt held where the dogs had to hunt not run around a corn field. I would like to see what dogs will really get in there and find a coon and know how to drop off in little side hollows and springs and such just to find a coon. That to me is more of a competion than turning them loose in thick coon. Also, you won't see those 1,800+ scores. (If you do you know for a fact something is not right) LOL

HMMMMMM....sounds like it aint gonna be in a lot of fellers back yard next year...wear ya snake chaps..bring ya chigger spray and have fun...j/k...i live in Albemarle...about 1 1/2 hour away from King..you will have wild coon..and bucket coon too..just like everywhere else..walker days in salsibury brings in some good score most years and you will have some of the same guides there..we have plenty of coon...and rivers,swamps,woods,and yes mountains...all within 3 hours of here..

u c down here it takes all coondog to tree coons. u have so much trash that a SO CALLED northeren champ hound has to hunt around in most places it aint no so such thing as running in 50 yards a slammin a tree, a coon dog have to work. i have hunted with some hunters from up north that would come down here to hunt and the frist thing we would have to do is to start breaking there hounds off of the old hard shell (lol) now these r ntch,grnntch, coonhounds me and my friends would take our pleasure hounds out and out tree out strike them all the time and have the coon. we would some times catch them riding the road hunting hounds.
so n short i beleive that if you really have a coon dog and specially in some form of champ with a title you should not care where the world hunt is.
but the hunt is what it is WORLD HUNT so let's move it around from state to state and you'll c that the local boys up north will find out that all they truly have is unbroke coonhounds.
now i'm not bashing the north i was born and raised there like wise we as southeren hunters would find out that we don't have winter hounds one that can go out in the cold of the night in ice, snow,wind, rain, and freezing temp and tree coons we might find our hounds refusing to leave the dog box. or even better you leaving your warm home to go hunting. it takes a real coonhunter to go to a tree look up while snow falls from the tree in the face minus degree temp i tell u it HURTS.

Yeah, I know about that now. We don't have them where I live & I had never thought of them before.
I was so excited when I made it to the finals in '98 when the world hunt was held in Oklahoma. That didn't last too long as my dog met her first and only armadillo.
A bluetick from Mississippi ended up winning the cast that night. I think everybody agreed that it wasn't even the second best dog on this cast, it was just broke. Oh well, that's the way it goes..

I don't agree with it being held in North Carolina at all. It's all well and good to move it around, but what about the dogs west of the Mississippi? Are they going to fly in to hunt or what? It was the same for us when it was in Oklahoma. It is just too far to travel for someone who doesn't have a ton of money. My God, with a pick-up getting 15-20 MPG, you're talking 200-300 dollars in gas just to get there and back.

Someone said to have it later in the year, and I agree completely with that. Get the leaves off the trees and crown a champion that no one can say the leaves protected them, and the coon are out and running instead of just popping up.

I am not one of the people that thinks all the walker dogs can't tree coons and all that junk. I live in the real world. But, I am pretty sure you would see dogs getting minus points for slick treeing, and with needing plus points to advance, it would make people squirm to have to start handing out minus points to the dogs that deserve it.

There is so much tree in some of these dogs that it would be an embarassment to some of the lines of all the breeds.

A world hunt should be with the leaves off!PERIOD!

PKC has their World Hunt there and it seems to work well......... i'm not a member nor have i ever hunted in PKC, but i go and observe everything (this will be my third year).... anyway it is a good location and it is right on the edge of the 160,000 acre Land Between the Lakes... i have met lots of good folks there and they say that they like it.....
