Well if u dont use them for pups an ur dogs are as good as u say they are then y do u use them? Wats the point in calling it hunting if u pull up an tree a coon in five MIN off a feeder? To me that's not hunting. An im not bashing anyones dog I just maid a statement about feeders. I feel the same way about deer an any other wildlife. If u have to sit over feed to kill it then to me their is no sport in it. How would u feel if every time u sat down to eat u was getting shot at... give wildlife a sporting chance for gods sake

Let's just talk about chocolate killing coons. I don't care about arguing about feeders. I've invited lots of folks over to see how it is away from home. None ever come. They know how the hunting is everywhere lol.

Only way I know to test it is go catch one. Feed it chocolate and see if it dies. Then you want really know if it died from being stressed in the pen or chocolate killed it lol.. I swear though. Them in that coon pen I'm in are healthy. A few prolly weigh 25lb. Look like baby bears.

Im pretty sure coons ain't in the dog or k9 family. Raisins will kill a dog quicker than anything. Coons eat the far outta grapes lol.

Nope, those are all in the weasel family. Raccoons are not related to the weasel family past being in carnivores. Raccoon more closely related to bears.

The question about the liquorish, I don't know. Is it black liquorish?

This source says licorice is not toxic to dogs. I could not find anything other than it makes some animals sick.

http://www.health-report.co.uk/phyt...id_extract.html

But then again this source is from the UK.

The candy would have to be infected with the correct part of a parasite's life cycle to cause an infection of the parasite.

This statement doesn't make any sense.

according to google it says raccoons are cousins to weasel's or somethin like that but they are more closer to the bear family and wolverines and badgers,

O.K. Science lesson for the day. Animals are classified in the following manner:

Kingdom Animalia
Phylum Chordata
Class Mammalian
Subclass Placental mammals
Order Carnivores
Family
Genus
Species

Raccoons belong to the Procynidae family. Weasels and such belong to the Mustelidae family. All members of the mustelids have smelly scent glands.

Bears are in the Ursidea family. The red panda was thought to be related to raccoons, but they were given their own family.

Saying weasels and raccoons are cousins is a bit of a stretch. They are only related to the level of carnivores.

it aint killed mine yet. but it still might, he is only 10.
i always heard bears and dogs were in the same family. if this is true and raccoons and bears are in the same family, then coons and dogs are related.

I WAS TOLD LAST YEAR THAT THE COON CANDY HAD KILLED ALL THE COONS ON OUR CLUB. THEY THOUGHT I WAS BUYING THAT STORY, BUT I KNOW IT WAS LEAD POISONING. THEY DISAPPEARED WHILE I WAS FEEDING DOG FOOD.

YOU BE THE JUDGE. (VIDEO)

candy

ok boys i can understand all of the comments and all have some good point but i have a letter from the biologists at SC DNR that say coon candy is safe and legal as long as it is legal to bait in your state and zone so candy is not killing coons at least not licourse candy.
