Joe, the only signature a card requires is the judges and cast winners. If the judge was the cast winner, the only signature required is his.

No card can be thrown out because it was not signed by all cast members.

That NOH needs to read up on his rules

Actually, I don't believe the judges signature is required either unless the judge is the cast winner. When it is all said and done, the only signature that is REQUIRED is the cast winners.

we are right about the signatures, but where has the sportsmanship gone if we don't sign?

if you ask my opinion it is thats sportsmanship is fadin away...i seems like ppl look for a reason to say they got screwed or the other guy cheated to win, here's what i think the coonhunters excuse is nowadays...he pitched off my dog all night if he would've called his own dog i'd won it..and thats comin from best friends and brother's or cousins and so on and so forth,,ig you ask me sportsmanship's gone bout it

Was this at Blairsville? He was wrong. He's been getting a lot of things wrong of late if it was.

I never thought this would cause this much of an argument. the thing that amazed me about this was the handler of dog c was winning the cast and said the 2 of us could score the tree. If it was my dog at least one of the other handlers would have been there or they would have been sitting in the truck.

This is just a comment, but I would like to see some scorecards from the 60s and 70's when dogs were expected to hunt as part of a cast and get their due points for the position they struck and the position they treed a coon on.
Now that dogs rarely hunt as part of a cast it is hard to apply the same basic rules they had back then to the present. No wonder the rules have to be tweeked. Dogs everywhere , people split up everywhere, some withdrawing, geeze.

When I judge, all members score every tree. When you show up at the clubhouse and one man cries "foul" over the fourth member of the cast not being at a tree he got minused on, it won't be on my cast. It is a basic concept, majority of the cast to plus or minus a tree. If you only have three out of four there and two vote minus and one votes circle, you still don't have a majority cast vote. There are four members of the cast and only three are voting, you have a majority voting but not a majority vote. Go tie your dogs and come back. It just sounds like a "time" saver to me. If you have dogs that work together you still can get a good score if you got a coondog, good competition, and you don't waste time going to two, three, or even four different trees every drop.

Four members equal three votes one way to equal a majority of the cast. Three members equals two votes one way to equal a majority of the cast. In my opinion you can't score a tree without the whole cast there to vote.

I see what you are saying about going to "two, three, or even four different trees every drop" being a time waster. LOL I think of NC as mountains ( but i know alot is good land) But if you got people scooting up and down those mountains and tieing up and all that rig a marole, how do you ever get in more than one drop? I bet they get mighty sweaty. I can see the "'time saver" part is is when dogs want to do right and try to compete on the same coon so you don't have to waste time back at the clubhouse argueing over a technicality that if the dogs would have just done right you wouldn't even have to argue over anyway.
