yeah slick treeing fools lol. everyone said the same thing about rat attack, elvis, bean etc. but people keep buying the pups and breeding their females. i started a trackman pup last fall for a man, and i can honestly say that the dog did not miss much. and when he did, it was cause he got out did by mr coon. but if anyone has success of any kind people are going to find some fault. so trackman is the one on the block these days. curt is a fine man and i believe he would do anything to help anyone. the way i look at slick treeing dogs is i trace it back to the person on the other end of the lead. if a dog will tree one coon he will tree another, this is where putting a boot on him my be in order. i have seen some handlers pet up a dog on a slick, they just glad to have a dog that will tree. Trackman is throwing consistent dogs. no not everyone of them are going to be A+ but he is doing his part. Mojo and clean will be on this block before long, so until then.

Its real easy to blame these stud dogs. I have heard that every good bitch was bred to the big names but dont forget about the sorry ones also. I am happy with my trackman bitch, she is the same night after night and even after long periods of time off. She can drive a track or just fall treed.

I went with Curt to the winter classic a couple years ago and for 2 days all I heard was how happy these guys are and no complaints. We won with sweat that night in the swamps of alabama in the pouring rain by treeing coons something most cast did not get done.

He no doubt is throwing coon dogs. there are to many winning for them all to be slicktreeing idiots. I have owned a couple and one died young and the other is dual gr and not three yet. The one that died was just over two and was a ntch. I liked them both, were they perfect no but I enjoy my female and she is dead straight, loud, and accurate.

There isn't many dogs out there that are an honest 80% accurate. If you have one that is that good or better you should feal lucky. Maybe in those big leafy trees you might have missed one or two. Maybe not who knows but i gurantee there are lots of dogs doing lots of winning that are way less accurate than that. Even most pleasure hunters would be happy with four out of five.

Yes the best females in the country have been bred to him and some of the worst. Some pups out of the best won't make and some out of the worst will. But it doesn't hurt to have the best bred to him and in my opinion that is a good sign when you have guys flocking to a dog with the best there is wanting to try to improve on what they have. He has been compaired to Rat and Nailor as for reproducing and if he doesn't pass them then just compaired to the best in the business puts you in pretty good company. It's always been said if they are talking about you then they have atleast noticed you.

The ones ive hunted with, babbled non stop, and were quick to get treed with nothing looking down. I am not saying this because I dont like that line but the ones ive hunted with were as described.

BUT i have hunted with several off Hardwood Cornell(off trackman) and i liked every one of them Real mouths, real tree dogs that got to themselves ....what people dont realize is , when your training a tree dog , your going to walk to some slick trees , a natural born tree dog is going to miss, its your duty to train on them or just dont bother hunting a tree dog....Big Difference in a dog that gets slick and a dog that cant run a track

I Personally WONT own one off trackman, His pups are sure winning the hunts though, i will give him that. and Im sure as many as there are out there ; Im sure there would be a couple that i would like...but the several i seen just werent my cup of tee

i have one of cornell and i wouldnt feed him if he was a slick treeing babbling hound. he is very good looking lots of good color built right an just a a plus in my book.

Heck I wish mine would open more. Sometimes you don't even get a track bark. Sometimes it's a few and then bang. Not very many blanks either. And come to think of it, she don't make all that many dens either.

U dont make that many den trees because shes on the meat for the meat knows shes on it!!!! Hard to hunt a tight mouth dog but u will look at more fur!! Usually alot less running tracks as well!!

most of the time the tighter the mouth the faster they get treed. If i was running from the law and they had their sirens blasting, i would know how close and and i could get out of dodge. I may get caught sooner or later, but not before i give them a good run lol. the same way with hounds. You get a dog that opens A LOT on the ground, most of the time you got a long race (unless the dog is super fast). But you take a dog that is tighter on the ground, that dog can run up on a coon quick and force it to climb or get caught. I like a dog that is a little tighter on the ground.

Grew up hunting with a grade redbone, hahaha he wasnt tight nbut silent!!! Never walked more than a few hundred yards to a tree, and 90% of the time the meat was on the outside!! He was a coondog but most people wouldnt have had him not a single word on track!! U would here him locate and if he located agin he was hooked!!!

I wasn't bashing the hound or his pups when I said he was breeding some of the best females in the country, don't take me wrong fellas. I'm saying he has the attention of some serious breeders and Curt has put his money and time in making sure he gets some good bred pups out there.

getting those good females is the key to making a great stud dog. Sure not everyoe will make a great cross but a good female mated with a good male makes a big difference. Got two more of those trackman dogs coming this weekend. And yea they are out of a Rat female. Seems to work.

Anybody mind posting a Trackman Ped? I got out out of Walkers about ten years ago. But I had the HOT numbers back then. Just like to see if I am guessing right?

It isn't about Trackman, Cold Sweat or any other stud dog out there. what it is about, most people don't know how to train a pup to become a coondawg. Yes some are naturals and those are few and far between. Yes breeding to good females helps your chances but the important thing is the trainer of the pup who probably has ruint more then he cares to tell... I blame the trainer who hunte his pup in the summer months and petted his pup up on tress that were leafy an didn't verify the coon was and was just happy he was treeing. no poor training ruins most pups into slick trers and everything else, it isn't the stud dog or dams...

What is a good female?Just because its titled is it a good female? What happened to the Natural Coonhound?Has it been replaced by the man made coonhound?Me and Curt had a long talk about this the other day.I called him and told him I had a PR female that belonged to my father-n-law out of my old rock dog, never been in a hunt, never been trained or corrected but she started treeing coon by herself around 6 months old, never seen a coon, messed with a drag or hunted with old dogs.Took her hunting with my young dog a couple months ago,he got treed and she never paid attention to him, done her own thing and got treed and had a coon.I told Curt she was not a pretty blanket bank, she is almost all white.Curt told me he didnt care,he got real excited and told me she was exactly what he is looking for to breed to,she is what we need to help the walker line.He made me feel that he wasnt doing it for the money and it wasnt all about Trackman but to help the Walker breed. He is either a good salesman or he really does care.I havnt made my mind up what to breed to but I enjoyed talking to Curt about hounds.

If he liked her so much, and thought it would improve the walker breed why isn't he sending you SEMEN or did he offer to breed her for free???? I don't know him (Curt) from Adam but I'm betting he tell's everyone that............to get that STUD FEE money, and possible performance money!! They don't call it the STUD DOG BUSINESS for nothing. Not trying to slam Curt or Trackman, I enjoy his show and hunted with some nice ones out of Trackman and some that needed a bullet, I'm just sayin!!!

ive been working with 2 pups from a litter we had...Trackman and a female of ours out of Dizzy...

they are gunna be 11 months in a week or so...

my buddy started his in Nov or so...i didnt start mine until mid Jan and been off and on with the weather...

they both run and tree their own coon...

mine has the cold sweat style mouth...its amazing...those locates send chills down your spine...BIG mouth...

my buddies took after his dam and has a squall mouth..

i am really happy with what im seeing from them...i can say mine hasnt slick treed on me yet and he has been under a bit of coon in the short time ive been working with him...only a few dens..the rest hes been under a coon..

easy starter too...i showed mine 1 caged coon...after that i took him for a walk in the dark...he sniffed hard near a few dens but never opened..once he acted like he wanted too but didnt know what to do...

ended up walking down the creek bottom and got lucky and caught a coon fight unfolding..he heard that and took off after them..he knew what that was...he jumped in the creek and crossed it and opened on track and nailed the tree...i looked up and there was one of the coon...i couldnt believe it..got lucky with a smokin hot track and a coon fight...

after that its been steady improvement...he is coming along nicely and improves every night i have him out...starting to range out and i dont have to walk him around as much..

easy to work with as well..i house trained him at camp this winter...the 2nd nite he was going to the door pawing at it...i couldnt believe it...manners and listens well..

not sure how he is gunna act on tracks...he is running a bunch silent until he runs it a while..not sure why..he sounds like a pig snorting running through the woods sometimes LoL...havent figured that out...maybe striking will come with time...i think it does help his accuracy and getting treed with a coon not a den...we have a TON of dens around..an open trailing dog gives them a warning to get to a den...

stubborn and wont give up on a track..hes no super star yet...hes learning the ropes and naturally takes him a little time to iron out older or tougher tracks...but he wont give up..doesnt get bored and quit..

seems to have some brains to him too..a lot of stuff that can take dogs some time to figure out seem to have came natural to him...

real happy with what were seeing...got feedback from a guy that bought a pup from us..was treeing a training coon in the pic he sent and said he likes his pup so far and just started working him...
