multiple game dogs
I run mine on bear, lion, cat and coon. I used to run them on fox too but I quit, the reason I quit fox was because there are way more fox than bear or cat (in the big woods) around here. I liked catching fox but I like catching bear and cat better...and if you're dogs are finding more fox than cats, well thats what you'll be treeing so I quit fox hunting them. I still catch one every now and then and have to go back through the 'fox off limits' talk.
We do not have coons in the woods around here I have to travel to hunt them so they are a non-issue, if we had as many of them as we do fox around here I might reconsider but for here and now as long as they tree/bay or catch what they are running I don't care if its black, speckled, ringtailed or long tailed...its game caught and dogs learning.
Yes, they will strike all four species off the rig.
Some dogs excell more a little on one than another but I only keep dogs that can catch by themsleves and catch what I turn out on...once again, black, speckled, ringtailed or longtailed.
Maybe if I could afford to not work all year and get to hunt all the time I'd have single use packs but it wouldn't get me far in the here and now.
I also don't guide, I could see that if I did I would obviously need to check tracks instead of just turning loose on a strike like I do now.
