I'm only putting this one on here for Matt T, "Old Butch". LOL
You guys really make me feel old, I've ran with or against and handled some of these dogs.

teegardins dancin sadie...one of a kind dog for me...limited trialing but you could count on her every spring running a few rabbits till they would just lock up...unbelievable!!! big meadows redman owned by dick mcvay...i wittnessed sadie and redman make a pack of dogs quite and go stand by their owners one day...a lot of good ones out there but these two are the ones i am the most familar with.

oops, now i guess i better answer original post qusetion...i guess it would have to go to the dog that gave my toni dog the worse butt kicking she ever took in a cast...thirty ought six flybye the only positive in the cast was that i was second but plenty far behind...another nemesis for my toni dog was white river raisin cane 0 for 2 against him.

White River Rollin' Thunder

I've seen a bunch that I loved to watch run, but there is a dog that sticks in my head as a Real nice rabbit dog.
I ran with "White River Rollin' Thunder" in The Md. state hunt, he was a HBCH at the time, that cast just sticks in my head, he was a real nice hound!
I believe he won the Md. state hunt that yr.
I had a real nice time with that cast!
There have been many that have impressed me, and a lot more that have not.
Anyone else remember him??

Within the last ten years I would say Swampmasters Singit Girl was as good as it gets. Others were
females - 30-06 Fly Bye, Kevins Daisy female, Gravedigger Abby, Bright eyes Bonnie, Mitch Goulds Kita, Hurry up Glory to name a few.
Males - Beau of Touchstone, Rambling Crook, C&ms Running Rebel, Sundown Mark v's King, Jeff I mean COY STACEY's Shorty male, Klingamans Seamore, Mystery Man and of course 30-06 Blitz all come to mind. Im sure Im overlooking some.

i havent been in it real long but the first hunt i ever went to was the worlds with mitch and ben. the two dogs the first come to mind are from that weekend and that would be cane and bus(white river strickly business), they both put on a show(in two diff casts). Bus is the toughest hound that ive got to see go yet and he was killed at a young age. other that come to mind would be izzy, kita, beau, dixieland delight(younger), and ozzy. really wish i would have got to see jake go in his prime. havent been into it as long as you guys! lol

another impressive showing from a great dog came from sundown tess...i was judging her in a performance pack trial and for the first 45 min. of the cast she was just in the mix...but the last 15 min. she completely gutted the other dogs and came outta nowhere to win...that was quite a show that day from a very nice hound!! when i first starting running in ukc dick mcvay had a dog named weedeater...i believe the dog championed in three hunts w/ three firsts...he also died too young!

Memories

I'd have to say the best female was a close one, Daileys Abbey was the best put together female I've seen on the ground. Her honest mouth, jump ability and her drive on track was impressive.(I named her granddaughter after her-B.B.Gravedigger Abbey)I sure would have loved to hunt them together to make a positive statement on who's the best..
I'd have to say the best male is a split, You couldn't find a better hound to hunt than Dirty Dan.Him and Abbey put alot in Dailey's Trapper which in my opoinion was the other I feel was the best.

Another real nice one

I never competed against this hound but seen him out run a cast and be so smooth at doing it was a hound called One Spot. Some guy up in Ohio owned ht. Think his name was Greg Mayle.

Yeah Mitch it's a shame! I think he would have been ranked way up there with the all time greats, if only he had a little more time. Guess thats why they say "the good die young"??? I was still very Impressed!! I've always liked the Jake bred dogs!

Ohhh gosh....going back 9 years ago when i started field trialing. I did'nt run against but I did judge WHBCH King...Good lord that dog that day put the the most impressive display of butt kick I still have ever seen, and that was my first cast I ever judged, it was coshocton in a champions cast just before he won the world, and I was not suprised when he won! Other dogs that leave a big impression on me thirtyoughtsix Hollywood Calendar Girl 5 wins in 5 straight hunts. The sundown gridiron sadie x Sean v's Ace (brother to king) cross was on fire!!! Keeper, Toni, Tank, and Kate, and Sting, I saw another one run but it was'nt in a trial and i can't remember his name. Big Meadows Red Man was getting up there when I came into the scene, but he was good dog. I judged Matt Turners Hurricane dog, when he put on a ONE DOG show!!, and thornsely's bright eyes bonnie was one tough little dog!!!!! and watched thornsely's George dog put on a but whippin at the navarre beagle club! Those are the dogs I think of when I think of the best I've seen. Of course blitz and fly rank but never ran against them handled them a couple times

She was a bad bitch! Her and Daisy battled it out a few times. Issy was to me as good as they come as well. She is one of the few that didnt fade out with age. Hell she'd probly still be winning if Jason was running her, lol.

Susie and Daisy was an unbelievable experience to watch battle in the field they would be withen 10 points every time with 3rd place like 400 behind,i'll never forget those cast. Suzzie went before her time but not before making her forever known (great hound)...... I never got to run with kita, we were always in seperate cast but I heard and read all about her and you could tell how impressive she was.. I have seen Threat destroy a couple cast as well as Booger.
