Well, just for craps and giggles, I called one local vet here today and I was mostly right. For one 60lb dog it would cost $62 and about half of that is for a fecal exam. I could not "just go in and get the pill"!
They did say that when I had the exam, that it would be valid for up to a year if a reinfestation occurred and then, and only then, could I "just come and get the pill"! But only for that one year period!
Not as expensive as I thought it would be for one dog, but if you have two or more dogs to worm, not the route I would go. If you guys have had a fecal exam at these vets in the last year, that is probably why you can "just go in and get a pill".
If not, give me the phone # of one of these vets so I can call and see if John Smith, whom they do not know from Adam, can just walk in and get a pill!

If you have used the same "group of vets" for many years, does that mean there is a particular office with several vets operating out of it at once or are you going to different vet offices?
I am not doubting that some of you guys can get this Drontal Plus by just asking for it, but for folks like me who are not messing with vets for anything, it is not that simple.
Now if I messed with vets much and they pulled my chart and saw how rich I was making them, they may be more inclined to "just sell me a pill"!
