I have had the same thing happen to me. One day i got home from work the duck was their went inside. After reading the lasted mail looked out the window and no duck or feathers. So i went to look for him and seen a pertty good size red-tailed hawk flying around.

it was completely gone. about every other day i am losing one at a time. for the most part they are so scared they arent leaving there perches for long in the barn. i am thinkin about using the one big rooster they got yesterday as bait and set the live trap just inside a small door i have for them.

kelly, put some loose dirt on the floor so you can get tracks..that will tell ya whats doin it..if its a hawk, i got a trick for ya but its not very legal..if its a mink, not hard to catch one of them..call me if ya need a hand

My possum experience with chickens they will kill all they can and may not even eat any of them eat a few bites off one sometimes they will just make a big mess feathers all over the place a coon most of the time take the chicken off and eat it and come back the next night for another meal Owl or Hawk will leave a few feathers no carcass

with the snow falling how it is, it is darn near impossible to consider tracks. been using the dogs. they milll around the barn, and then take off. the shepherds that is.

Well that is the evidence! With all that snow I would think there would be tracks or signs of some kind. It does look to have been done by an animal that kills to kill..not for food! I agree, it possibly could have been "Skeeted" though I hate to think that.

i dont know how to do that fancy little schwa mark on touche, but none the less, still a problem
and if you had the snow up here, an inch a night, and then when you wake up another five, give me an indian. please johnny. please. we used to have the best brown eggs for a couple miles around.

ok, set the live trap with a hair trigger, and chicken breast. alrighty, cant wait for the am. door on the barn is only at about a third, put a dog food bowl on one side and the trap is takin up the door. let's see.

chicken killing

if you can see barn from the house crack a window set there wit a22 or a gun watch all night take shifts with hubby you will find out what it is should be easy to see with that snow still looks looks like a coon killing to me probly wrong

Game camera

If you dont own one, borrow a game camera and aim it at the door. When critter comes through you will at least know what it is.Then you can proceed from there as how to remove it.

well, set a live trap last night and got nothin, cant see any tracks cause i also got over 8 inches of snow last night and still coming down strong. i am gonna pull my game camera from the woods and bring it down to the barn. i dont know why i didnt do it before. good idea.lol.
