I would wish for a more coonhunter freindley devise ,Like only maps,,direction to dogs and distance, dog location. If they had just a basic system there would be alot more people that arn't Techo Savvy be able to use and understand them instead of complaining about them .I like them just the way they are but will never need to use all the features it's capable of.

Garmin needs to come out with the garmin Jr. just for coonhunters. Half the buttons, half the gizmos, half the functions, half the problems (which are mostly user error),HALF the price. Coonhunters, myself included are not a very tech. savy bunch. Iv had mine 3 years, i can turn it on, check distance to dogs, distance from roads and direction so apparently everything else this thing does is wasted on me. Oh yeah i can also turn it off, when i remember.

One thing they could add is a deal where if it hasnt moved in an hour it turns itself off. Sure would save me on batteries. LOL.

One thing that I do is that I never use the pointer. Since I don't use that I never have to calibrate mine unless I just want to use the compass.

I always just use the map for tracking.

The only times I've had to calibrate my compass was after changing batteries.

Now how about a few more REAL improvement ideals.

For it to show You where and how many coons there are on the property and to show that when your dog is treeing it should say if its actually up there or its a slick or den.

I would love to have a "Garmin JR." Its kinda like buying a cell phone and paying for all the gadgets, now you even have to pay for internet on them even if you dont want it. STUPID!!

I would like to have a Garmin Jr. with a built in shoker.

I love mine and the only two things I can think of is the internal antenna needs to be stronger and distance increased.

Well if I were king for a day I would see to it that the radio frequency for communication was a thing of the past. All communication would go direct from dog collar to satellite to handheld for complete unlimited range. The collar would only be capable of being turned off and on with the handheld and the collar circuitry housing would be made of the same material as the black box in a commercial airliner. Of course this definately means that affordability is shot to heck...but then again if I were king I would take care of that too.

Seriously, I would like one made for putting on coons. Could cut itself off when not moving. All it would need to show is a track. Reflective collar. and hope you don't hit the unit when you shoot it out after a month.LOL

dc30 collar be able to afix a name plate in the area fo where the antennea cover patch is

I would like Garmin to come out with a Dash Mounted Big Screen 220 receiving unit for when I am driving down the road trying to see the screen. I have asked for this every time I call customer service. LOL

How about a Garmin with the Walkie Talkie feature? How much more would you be willing to pay for it?

True GPS

The greatest improvement in my eyes would be eliminating the "line of sight" part. Have the collars ping the satellite, and then send the transmission to the handheld. You should never lose a signal then, unless they go in a hole.

I wish they had more frequencies. Turn on your Astro at the clubhouse and it starts dropping collars. There is too much interference between collars.

Is this happening with the DC40s or the 30s? I was under the assumption that the pin number with the DC40 would eliminate that. Maybe I am wrong.

I have never seen a 40. If that pin number will eliminate that problem, then maybe I need to introduce myself to one.
