Would that be Lee's Missy (II) dog? I thought that was out of Wes Blue's Ranger I dog? Between Russ, you Perry, Lee, and Wes all in that area around Clinton. There was alot of GREAT blue dogs in southeastern Wis!

BLUE DOGS

THE MISSY DOG OF LEES WAS GOOD TIME JACKHAMMER OR CASEY BRED I THINK. RICH OSBORNE BOUGHT RANGER OFF OF WES,7500.00 I BELIEVE. LATER JP LANGHAM OF MISSISSIPPI HAD HIM DOWN THERE, I THINK HE BOUGHT HIM OFF OF RICH BUT DIDN'T WANT ANY ONE TO KNOW CAUSE HE WAS A WALKER MAN. HE WAS QUIT A CHARACTER AND A GOOD DOG MAN. HE HAD THE HIGH STYLE DOG AND FRANKIE DUKES ON HIM BACK THEN ,MUST OF SEEN SOMETHING IN THAT BLUE DOG HE COULDN'T DO WITHOUT CAUSE HE TOOK HIM WHEN HE LEFT FOR MISS. THAT TIME AS WE STOPPED AT RICH'S AND JP HAD JUST LEFT , RICH WAS PRETTY QUIET AND ALL HE SAID WAS RANGER WAS HEADED
FOR MISS. I OWNED 3 DIFFERENT DOGS OUT OF HIM ALSO, 2OUT OF THE THREE MADE NTCH SOLD BOTH TO A YOUNG GUY FROM CUBA CITY WIS BOTH WERE OUT OF WES BONNET FEMALE AND WERE COONDOGS AT A YOUNG AGE. 3RD WAS MISS. STATE GRCH
AND A NICE HOUND ALSO,HE PUT BOTH IN HIS PUPS ALSO. DUAL GRAND COONCREEK RANGER WAS A 1/2 BROTHER TO LUKE AND WAS ALOT THE SAME TYPE DOG HE ALSO WAS A GOOD REPRODUCER THAT WAS BRED TO EVEN LESS THAN LUKE.
I ALWAYS LIVED IN NORTHWEST ILL. AND THE GUYS YOU MENTIONED SPENT ALOT OF TIME DOWN THERE HUNTIN THROUGH THE YEARS. NEVER USED TO HEAR ANY DOGS, VERY SELDOM EVEN IN SEASON. THIS LAST YEAR I'VE HEARD MORE DOGS AROUND THAN EVER BEFORE. MORE INTREST IN THE SPORT AND MORE GUYS WITH DOGS SINCE THE ELIZABETH IL COON CLUB OPENED.
MONTY, I THINK I'M LINED UP ON THE PUP DELIVERY, HARVEY BADER IS COMING THROUGH HEADED TO ARK. ON THURSDAY AND WILL HAUL THEM. IF SOMETHING FALLS THROUGH I WILL SURE GIVE YOU A HOLLER AND TRULY APRECIATE THE OFFER. THANKS
I SURE DIDN'T MEAN TO INSINUATE ANYTHING ABOUT YOU GUYS SPANKY BRED DOGS. I BELIEVE THAT IS THE BEST WAY TO DO BUSINESS IN BREEDING DOGS IF IT IS AT ALL POSSIBLE IS TO BE THERE. WHEN I PUT MY NAME ON SOMETHING I WANT TO KNOW FOR SURE WHAT I'M PROCLAIMING IS IN FACT WHAT I SAY IT IS AND THAT IS IMPORTANT AS OUR RECORDS AND PEDS. ARE ONLY AS ACCURATE AS THE BREEDERS WORD AND COMPITANCY IN HANDLING SUCH AFFAIRS. EXAMPLE(FEMALE GETTIN LOOSE AT BREEDERS PLACE AND BEING HUNG WITH A YOUNG DOG OUT OF THE STUD SHE IS THERE TO BE BRED TO) THEN WHAT HAPPENS IF NO ONE IS THERE TO SEE IT? INACCURATE RECORDS 9 OUT OF 10. SO AS I SAY THE PAPERS ARE ONLY AS GOOD AS WE ARE. MARLO IF YOU READ THIS, THE PIC OF LUMBER POSTED HERE IS A PERFECT ONE TO SHOW HOW THAT STUFF AFFECTED HIM. LOOKS LIKE HE WAS DIPPED IN SOMETHING HALFWAY UP HIS BODY AND ALL THE TICKS FELLOFF CAN ALSO SEE IT UP UNDER HIS THROAT AND CHIN AND SIDES OF HIS FEET. THANKS FOR THOSE PICS GREGG, I HAVE SOME GOOD ONES OF ALL THESE DOGS WE ARE TALKING ABOUT WAITING ON THE WIFE TO HELP ME GET THEM ON HERE. LOOKS LIKE YOU BEEN HUNTIN THE HAIR OFF THAT LITTLE DOG, THAT IS JUST ONE TIGHT BALL OF MUSCLE. JUST GOT IN FROM HUNTIN IN ICE RAIN , TREED2 AND A DEN , TIME WE CAME OUT THE FIELD ROAD WAS SLICKER THAN SLICK, GLAD TO BE IN WARM AND DRY. OPPY KINDA MUMBLED , BUT I BELIEVE HE SAID ME TO. PERRY

I know of Richard, but don't know him personally.

I have been looking for a good outcross for heavy linebred Uchtman females for a while. Oppy might be the thing.

I don't think the female of Lee's was Jackhammer bred. He had a 2yr old female w/ 4 wins toward Grand Nite by the name of Jazz that was Jackhammer bred. But this was only about 6years ago. and she got killed on the road not to far from my house during a buddy hunt. They found her on the shoulder of the road and someone had drug her off of the road and left her there! To this day it STILL makes me sick. I thought his Missy female was out of Wes Blue's stuff. But you would know more than I about that. Did the Menne boys of Iowa had some stuff out of Luke and Toad too right? Wasn't there a Helegerson and a Franzen (around Elgin, Iowa) as well?

no...

never hunted with luke or lumber. didn't need to or want to. there was enough "going on in the hunts" to know they reproduced. my opinion. i hunted with four and owned two from lumber. i also owned and personally hunted gr ch fox river blue sky (direct lumber daughter) till her passing. she was gr ch bluetick female in 1996 for owner, breeder bob huss. sky was a beautiful female and wonderful to hunt. great disposition and the right attitude. she helped to train out several hounds before her death. they don't all make it to the nite hunts..but never the less, there is still the good ol pleaure hound... and lumber will always be a favorite with my family. he was a good looking blue as well. LOL! had to toss that in...and the bluetick gyp of hittson's? sired by ol luke..was also the foundation brood female of their kennel. talk about "dual purpose"...

BLUEDEOGS

MARTY,
WILL PROBABLY HUNT A COUPLE OR SO FOR OTHER PEOPLE AND WOULD BE HAPPY TO DO IT FOR YA. IF YOU LIKE THEM THEN I KNOW THEY ARE WORTH HUNTIN. IF YOU WANT TO TRY ONE OF THEM FEMALES ON OLE SHEP HERE LET ME KNOW. GUESS WE BETTER GO HUNTIN FIRST AS I DON'T WANT YA TO HAVE TO PAY FOR A MISMATE SHOT(hehehehe!!!) JAY, ALLTHOSE GUYS YOU LISTED HAD DOGS OUT OF AND CROSSED ON THE TREEIN BLUES.
LUKE TOAD LUMBER WEASEL. WEST UNION, HAWKEYE, OUT IN THAT COUNTRY. THE MENHE BOYS WERE KNOWN AS THE ROUND HEADS THAT MARLO WAS TALKING ABOUT IN HER POST. MISSY MIGHT HAVE BEEN OUT OF ROWDY, DON'T REALLY REMEMBER, BUT HEARD SHE WAS NICE, I DIDN'T HUNT WITH HER. LAURA HAS BEEN AROUND AWHILE AND SEEN ALOT OF THE BLUES OF THE PAST AND THEIR OFFSPRING GO BOTHIN COMP HUNTS ON THE BENCH AND FOR PLEASURE. ANYBODY ON HERE THAT THINKS WHAT SHE SAYS ISN'T CREDIBLE BECAUSE SHE IS A WOMEN OR
WHATEVER THE REASON IS WRONG. SHE HAS BEEN ALL OVER, HUNTIN WITH DOGS THAT ALOT OF US ONLY KNOW AS LEGENDS OF THE BREED AND IS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE ON THE OTHER BREEDS ALSO. SHE HAS SHOWED DOGS AT MOST OF THE MAJOR EVENTS, NOT ONLY BLUETICKS, AND WON HER SHARE. LAURA, THANKS FOR STOPING BY AND RELAYING SOME OF WHAT YOU KNOW ON THESE DOGS. YOU GUYS THAT KNOW HOW TO PUT PICS ON HERE, CAN YA HELP ME OUT? WOULD REALLY LIKE TO PUT SOME OF THE ONES I'VE GOT OF THESE DOGS ON HERE. PERRY

LUKE OFFSPRING

AS I STATED BEFORE ,THERE WAS ALOT OF YOUNG DOGS THAT WERE ABOVE AVERAGE. THE LITTLE FEMALE THAT JUNIOR KING WON QUEEN OF HUNT AT THE NATIONAL HUNT WITH WAS OUT OF LUKE AND A QUAIL CREEK JIMMY FEMALE. HE BOUGHT HER FROM ME 2MONTHS PRIOR TO THAT HUNT. HAD A LITTERMATE FEMALETO JERRY TURBEVILLES MUSICMAN DOG OUT OF LUKE AND DUALGR. OXY. TURNED DOWN 3500.00 FOR HER AT 14 MONTHS OLD AND SHE GOT KILLED ON THE ROAD. JEFF GLOVER OF SHELBINA MISSOURI BOUGHT 3 DIFFERENT LUKE DOGS AT DIFFERENT TIMES
AND HAD ALL 3 AT THE SAME TIME. SAID THEY WERE GOOD ENOUGH TO COLLECT AND HOLD ON TO. SENT A MALE OUT OF THE SAME CROSS AS SPANKY BUT A DIFFERENT LITTER WITH EARL LOCKHARD DOWN TO GEORGIA. THE DOG TURNED OUT BUT EARL KINDA DISAPPEARED FROM THE SCENE AS FAR AS COMP. HUNTING.
THIS IS JUST SCRATCHING THE SURFACE ONCE AGAIN. DID ANYONE ELSE OWN ANYTHING OR DID YOU KNOW OF SOMEONE THAT OWNED ONE OUT OF LUKE. WE ARE HAVING BLIZZARD LIKE CONDITIONS HERE IN EPWORTH IA. AS I SPEAK AND THE FURNACE JUST WENT OUT. GUESS I BETTER GET OFF HERE AND GET IT LOOKED AT AS EVERYONE IS HOME CAUSE OF THE SNOW.

hunt

perry as soon as this weather breaks in the spring we need to hook up and hunt. I'm sure breeding one of these females to oppy would be anything but a mismatch. I know yo uwell enough to know if you are hunting him he is somethign special. I always thought yo uand I saw things alot alike in what we want out of a dog. Cept some 20 years later I dont want them going quite so hard as I used to LOL

Perry was Ringeletsetter's Amos dog out of Adametz's Bruiser dog as well? Or was his old Jess female out of him? Actually, its funny to mention West Union, my dad is from there. Infact my late grandpa had a bar called "The Long Branch" tavern there!

thanks for commment, perry...

i don't have access to a scanner..but do have some nice photos of dual gr ch junkyard blue david and gr nite ch northern blue jack and quite a few on luke's pedigree as far as the david side. they were taken, by myself, at a BBOA Zone IV event. dave nelson, lee sherburn and several other of us "ol timners" were there. david was around a year old!! lol! the year was 1980...wish i was physical able more to hunt..i miss it. also..on a sadder note..amazen blue hammerin king died. he carried ol toad on his topside. his bottomside was that his granddam was a littermate to dual gr ch moody creek blue jammer. his dam was from mo. and i bred to vern's male to get king. king hunted within days of his passing and would of been ten shortly. my gr ch shania was hunted with him and she is nearing 9! proving you can hunt the older ones. LOL! i since bought her back home..she's a walker...LOL! i didn't breed the litter but she has offspring running big game across the seas and in italy!!! ROFL! best to ya'll in the new year...

Not sure how many years ago it was (7?) Steve brought a direct daughter of Luke and bred her to Larry Davis' Dual Grand Berry Dog. She was untiled, not sure what the bottom side of the female was. It could of been his old Jess female. Did he ever breed her Luke?

Yes that would be it. Steve has the littermate male named Sonny at his place.(might be the only bluetick he has there) not sure if he even made it to the woods this year (hmmm that sounds familiar!)
