JR did you toss one of the coons out of the water and let them chew on it? If the answer is no then I wouldn't think you could plus it in a hunt.

I'm confused here I think. Did the dog(s) open on track and run the track it to the small tree leaning on the water tower or whatever it was and then fall treed? If so then didn't they run their track to end and the coon were seen even though they had drowned?

AL,,,

WEATHER THEY RAN THE TRACK OR NOT IS NOT IMPORTANT. ALL THAT MATTERS IS YOU HAVE DOGS THAT WERE TREED ON A WATER TROUGH. DEAD COON ARE TO BE CONSIDERED (NOT THERE)

I WAS ON A CAST ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO AND ONE MANS DOG TREED A DEAD COON THAT WAS ROTTEN AND ONLY THING THAT WAS THERE WAS A FEW BONES AND A TAIL. THE MAN GOT PISSED BECAUSE THE JUDGE WOULD NOT + IT AND ASKED WHY NOT. THE JUDGE THEN TOLD HIM THAT IF THERE WERE A DEAD AND ROTTEN HOUND UNDER THE TREE HE WOULD + IT. I THOUGHT THAT WAS PRETTY DARN FUNNY. LOL

what about?

My dog treed one on a metal tripod deer stand. How would that be scored in a hunt?

Ok is that actually a rule of UKC nite hunts or just your opinion? From what I read it said they were treed on a small tree leaning standing against the water trough which the coon climbed to get into the trough. And although they did drown and were dead the dogs finished the track and showed the coon. I wish UKC would jump in and give the official answer on this although I honestly doubt this happens more that once a year throughout the whole country.

I dont know if he ran a track or not. We just found him treed and that is what he had. I like to cut dogs a bunch of differents way and then go back and find them. One dog one way and another dog another way. Keep in mind this on a ten thousand acre farm with no houses on it. Coons are very scarce, a dog must go hunt big time.

Delete. I'm trying to find it in Advisor 1 cause I know I've written it before. But anytime you have an unscorable coon whether it's a dead one in a tree (or water trough lol ) or a live one in a live trap you have to delete the points.

I'm surprised it's never been officially added to the delete rules because this is not a rare situation. In fact, if we can stop the presses on the new scorecard and rulebook, it might just become 5(i).

THE HOUNDS

ran the track and finished it to where two coons were found dead, presumed to have drowned at where the track ended.I'm judging, hum, that is a tough call, hum, the coons had to be alive to lay the track, lets see, dogs didnt catch the coons, but they finished the track and showed treed to my saticfaction, and these dead coon still fresh just dead by drowning cause they couldnt get out,hey lets vote on it!Majority wins.

Yes Todd you did write an advisor about it.

If I remember correctly your advisor covered trapped coon and dead coon as unscorable coons and they were to be deleted.

So everyone you have your official answer from UKC.

Not minus, plus nor circle. You delete.

I'm glad Todd got on here pretty quick cause it saved me lots of arguing LOL.

All I can say

Is if the dogs struck the track and the coon drowned before the dogs got there... I'd withdraw my dog, and not tell anybody about it!
