Sorry but it's a scam.

I just got off the phone with Carla Waggoner with "Make a Wish Foundation" and she replied its a old scam that has resurfaced.

The reason why I called was I found some older dates on the web with her name on them. And thought before I send a card to a possible mourning family "terminally ill" and "cancer". Why not make sure the cancer hasn't already taken her life? That would be hard on a parent, still receiving cards after her death. Sorry but it's a scam. If you would like to confirm this, the number is 1-800-722-WISH

It's a shame our society has come to this.....

I did some research of my own and Riley is real and does have cancer. The make a wish bunch had nothing to do with her wanting the cards that was just a request she made. I have a friend that is with the foundation and she says they just want to make sure everybody knows that the cards were Rileys request not a wish for the foundation.
