In 2008, the World Hunt was in Elizabeth, Illinois. There were 650 dogs total entered in the zones. There was a total of 122 dogs entered in the show.

In 2009, the World Hunt was located in Rogersville, Tennessee. There were 717 dogs entered to hunt in the zones. There was a total of 144 dogs entered in the show.

This year, at Columbia City, there were 716 dogs entered to hunt in the zones and if my memory serves correctly, around 150-151 dogs confirmed for the show.

This was my first year at the World, but it seemed that there was a very action packed final four, and a healthy number entered in the show.

There's always a few that don't show up even after paying the entry. Last minute things pop up that require spending your trip money on other things and dogs come in season and some are just burnt out after a recent trip to AO's. Forfeiting your entry money is a drop in the bucket compared to what the trip itself costs if you live any great distance away.
We've always liked to just be there but it hasn't escaped our attention that fewer of us old campaigners are around each year. Due to some problems I was having with the dogs we may not have made it this year if it hadn't have been reasonably close but it wouldn't have been because we didn't want to be there trying to win it.
