I've also heard that if you shot a coyotes, hit it but not kill it, and the rest of the pack smells blood, they will kill it. Is that true and does it hold true for wolves?

If you want to do away with the cry babies just simply quit killing anything for 3 years. Let the unwanted dogs and cats run the streets and see how many kids get bit and rabies gets spread. Let them see how many people get killed hitting hogs, dogs, yotes, deer and everything else. Heck open all the gates and let all the cattle and other live stock out. Then see what a head of lettuce costs you.

timber wolves

I do not know to be a 100percent fact but I was told by a dnr officer that they was going to bring timber wolves into georgetown sc to help kill out the kiyotes. The way I see it is at least kiyotes don't kill people. They said they was going to limit the number timber wolves they bring in. But my thing is rather you bring ten or fifty they are dangerouse an they are going to reproduce

Sucks about your dog man, i would be ticked too.BUT as a coon hunter you know when you turn your dog loose something COULD happen.I dont think as sportsman we should want to kill everything in the woods. Anything can kill the dog, alligators, bears, wolves, mountain lions/cougars, hogs, snakes and so on..Should we kill all of them too? You send your dog into the woods, you may not see it again alive. Thats a risk we run in my opinion. You go into wild animals turf, something bad may happen. You get in the ocean, you may get ate by a shark. Thats just my opinion and im not a tree hugger, Im a coon hunter

In addition to my post, we should have the right to protect ourselves, our family, and our hounds if need be. And again, Im sorry about your dog, that has to be hard to swallow.

Very good point. Guess being from a place were we don't have to worry about it I don't think about it but you are right.
I guess the differance to me would be if the animal in question is native to your area or if it has been brought in. If native the children and people should be tought safety out side of the house and if not native people should not have to retrain themselves or there kids to things the dnr is dumping out.

I agree, they shouldnt be "stocking" wild animals in places where they arent native.

All I've got to say is "YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING" Timber wolves were reintroduced to MN. by the Fed. gov. They were suppose to be controlled to a number of 1200 in MN we now have approx. 4000. They were suppose to be kept to the northern most counties they now have spread across most of MN. If you don't live in an area where there are tinber wolves you really don't have the slightest idea what you are talking about.

REintroduced, that to me means they were native at one time, and killed off.As far as the gov expecting to control the population and territories of WILD wolves, the government is full of idiots, we all know that.. Im not saying the wolves are good to introduce into areas, what Im saying is it doesnt make sense to me when a wild animal inflicts injury on a person or another animal in the wild on the wild animals turf, and people get so pissed that the want to eliminate the wild life. If people killed all the coon, you would be mad cause you dont have no coon to tree. You may not think I have the slightest idea what Im talking about, but its called rational behavoir. I did however say people should have the right to protect theirselves if need be...Did you see that, or did you miss it because you couldnt wait to tell me that my OPINION was wrong? And if you dont agree that something could happen to a hound anytime you turn it loose, then your the one that dont have the slightest idea of what your talking about.

Yellowstone is these kinds of peoples playground. They started off wanting wolves to add to their "wilderness experience". Then they got the ES Act. That way they could "take" additional land without having to buy it. We had an overthrow about 12 years ago and those ninnies we sent up there wanted to "make nice" and since they also had the "lawmaker" mentality they contuinued to make laws. I wish if we have another takeover this November we can persuade our newly elected to "do no harm" untill they go back and review the Unconstitutional laws written in the 1970's. That should take up an entire term.

OPINIONS

thanks for everyones opinions and alot of you bring up good points and alot of great facts.Yes people do get upset about wolfs attacking livestock and pets but that does NOT mean they want EVERY wolf killed but what I think it means is that they are sick of nothing being done to CONTROL them and keep BALANCE.. in MN the state says they'd like to see around 1200 and 1600 wolfs yet there's over 3,000 so i ask is it so wrong to want to get laws change so there and be CONTROL AND BALANCE???

That is my opinion too.

If the people in the city and suburbs want to restock them, they should be restocked in the city and suburbs where these people live.

Let's Make a Deal (politically speakin) . Gators were never lacking in SC. But how many in YOUR STATE wanted them protected? Deal Is, "I feel your pain"( Igotta be politically correct) we don't have anything but the kind of "wolves" that bury under squirrel hides till frost. I'll be on your side to put a little respect in them real wolves up your way. At least our gators take a four month "high eat us" or, what is it College professors do? Seminary" or Congress, "break"? when we get some relief and feel safe?

Nope and it sounds like a new thing to hunt at this point. ( :
I wouldn't want to wipe them out but cutting them in half and giveing them fear of people should be done. IMO

Yeah I wouldnt mind seeing a season on them, or something like that to hunt them. Whoever made the comment about if the city folk want them they can have them ,that surprises me cause the country folk is the ones that usually respects the wildlife. I sure as heck aint no city folk.

These are the saddest pictures I have ever seen. I am an animal lover but hurt my dog, you're dead. Nothing should be that protected that it can tear apart our dogs/animals of any kind. I just can't get over those pictures. I am so sorry for all of you that have lost a beloved hound to these beasts.
