UKC don't pass anything. The breed assoc. do. What I'm saying more people that belong to their breed assoc. like me to dogs then don't and they let their assoc. know. Any good me too dog will get to the tree within 1 min. anyway. I don't belong to any assoc. so I don't have a vote.

Chester , thats what I was told. I can't hardly believe it either , but I do know that the Black and Tan Assoc voted yes... I got that info DIRECTLY from a board member. Perhaps he made a mistake in telling me , but thats what he said and he was there. If that is not correct , then I was told wrong.

Read the votes below again.

Proposal #1~ Rule 2 (b) / Point System: - Yes (1) No (6) Result (Failed)

Mr. Frizzell,
A disabled person can get a letter from UKC allowing them to call their dog and have someone else handle the dog for them in the hunts IF they send UKC a letter or statement from their doctor defining their disability and UKC approves it.

Call or email UKC to get all the details.

Well, at least you don't have to worry about him passing on that flaw to his offspring if they get him fixed.

Proposal #1~ Rule 2 (b) / Point System: - add to read:
125 points for dog declared treed first; 75 points second; 50 points third and 25 points fourth. One minute after first dog has been declared treed; second tree position will be closed. Two minutes after first dog has been declared treed; third tree position will be closed. Any dog(s) treed after two minutes will receive 25 tree points. Any dogs declared treed after five minutes refer to Rule 4(k).
Yes (1) No (6) Result (Failed)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The vote should say...
ME (1) ME TOO (6) Result (Failed)

Hard to undersatnd why the breed associations will not pass a countdown rule of some kind.

I believe if it was medically necessary that the surgery take place and you have a doctors note stating such they can be showed. I would just make the judge aware before the show starts.

The rule on phones is a joke LMAO!!!! I have a company phone and if rings I am supposed to answer it.....that's what they pay me for!!! With that being said I ALWAYS put it on vibrate so as not to disturb anyone, but if a customer calls me with an emergency (which happens regularly at odd hours) then I am expected to take care of business. After January one of those "slick hanlding" "cheating" hunting judges you guys are always talking about will scratch me!!! LMAO!!!!

Too bad

I myself would like to see a declining tree. Most any of the dogs doing work on a track if pack hunting will be in there within 1 minute anyway and still receive the next available tree points right?

Oh well it will get shut down next year too...

One of the biggest things I have heard on why it doesn't get passed is due to ease of judging. Not like it's hard to see when 1 minute rolls by, and again when 2 goes by...

You're right Tully its not hard at all its just an excuse the less fortunate of dog power use. The other breeds know they are already at a huge dis advantage so no way they would pass something that would put them at an even bigger disadvantage.

PKC doesn't but I'm not sure about AKC. I really have no problem with the new rule, but it needs to be clarified from the beginning what is OK and what is NOT OK by UKC standards instead of leaving it up to the "judge's decision". I think it's rude to have a phone stuck to your ear the entire hunt or be texting throughout the hunt, but there are times when somebody needs to excuse themselves for just a second to take care of business. This rule can be helpful in some cases, but it can also be abused VERY easily. People on here (not everybody but a vast majority) are always talking about how everyone they draw is a cheater and crook. UKC will need to be the ones to say what is and isn't acceptiable when it comes to that issue and not leave it up to a judge who may or may not be out there for his or her benefit only. That's just my opinion, and you know how they are

George, proposal 7b says "changed to read". That makes me believe that the old rule 7 is completely thrown out and replaced by proposal 7b. So if I'm understanding all this correctly, we can basicly forget that there is a rule 7 because it will NEVER be used.

SO NOW, UKC WHERE DOES THIS RULE APPLY, AND WHAT EXACTLY KIND OF ELECTRONIC DEVICES DOES IT INCLUDE?

DOES IT APPLY STRICTLY IN THE WOODS, OR DOES IT ALSO APPLY TO SPECTATORS IN THE TRUCK, AT THE CLUB HOUSE?

CAN I NO LONGER BRING MY LAPTOP WITH ME, WHICH I REGULARLY DO AND WATCH MOVIES, PLAY GAMES OR WORK ON MY PEDIGREE PROGRAM? IT IS AN ELECTRONICE DEVICE AND IT HAS GAMES ON IT. I HAVE NO INTERNET UNLESS IT'S A HOT SPOT, SO I CANT TRANSMIT MESSAGES

OR IF CHEYENNE COMES WITH ME, CAN SHE BRING ONE OF HER HANDHELD GAMES?

BECAUSE I CAN SEE IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE IF UKC IS GOING TO BECOME THIS STRICT ON "ANY ELECTRONIC OR GAMING DEVICES", IT'S GOING TO CUT ALOT OF FAMILY STUFF OUT.

I KNOW WHEN CHEYENNE WAS SMALLER AND SHE WANTED TO GO TO A HUNT/SHOW WITH US AND SHOW, AND IT WOULD BE TO FAR TO RUN HER BACK TO MOM'S BEFORE WE WENT HUNTING, I WOULD ALWAYS BRING HER GAMES AND/OR DVD PLAYERS AND STUFF LIKE THAT TO KEEP HER OCCUPIED DURING HUNT TIME. ALOT OF FAMILIES DO THIS.

BUT ACCORDING TO THIS NEW RULE, IF I'M READING IT CORRECTLY, THAT WONT EVEN BE ALLOWED.

I MEAN SERIOUSLY. HOW CAN A POCKET SODUKU GAME AFFECT THE SCORES ON A SCORECARD?

I MEAN, AN MP3 PLAYER, OR AN IPOD, IS AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE.

IN MY OPINION THIS NEW RULE LEAVES WAY TO MANY GRAY AREAS NOW. BEFORE, CELL PHONES WERE PRETTY CLEAR. BUT WITH TECHNOLOGY NOW ADAYS, JUST ABOUT ANYTHING COULD BE CONSIDERED AN ELECTRONICE GAMING DEVICE.

WHAT IF THE JUDGE APPROVES THE DVD PLAYER, OR COMPUTER, ETC AT THE BEGINNING OF THE HUNT. THEN SOMETHING/SOMEONE PI$$ES HIM/HER OFF AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE JUDGE DISAPPROVES? WHAT THEN? COULD THAT CAUSE SOMEONE TO GET SCRATCHED?

Do the other breeds know how their respective associations arrived at how to vote? If you don't know, you need to pressure them to find out a few things, like:

A. Who decided how the breed would vote?
B. What information did they use to decide how their membership would want them to vote?
C. Did they cast their breed's vote the way they were directed by the membership?

As far as I'm concerned this process is MESSED UP. Its a great mystery who gets a say in these rule changes and votes. IMO, there are people with a big influence that have little or no interest or participation in nite hunts. They should NOT be deciding the future of UKC nite hunts. Just because someone pays dues to a breed Assoc. doesn't mean they have an intelligent vote. But then we can't even say they have a vote, can we?

Taken from first post. Thanks.

Please consider that UKC is currently tied up with finishing up Autumn Oaks and then jumping right into getting ready for the World Hunt. Therefore, we would hope you might consider that we may not be able to spend much time, if any, in clarifying any questions right now on those that passed. All proposals that passed will be clarified in-depth starting with the November Issue of COONHOUND BLOODLINES.

Enjoy, but remember to keep it cool even when they might not have all went in your favor.

You're right its a crock of crap! Several of these votes come from people that don't even nite hunt! What do they care about improving the hunts?

Please consider that UKC is currently tied up with finishing up Autumn Oaks and then jumping right into getting ready for the World Hunt. Therefore, we would hope you might consider that we may not be able to spend much time, if any, in clarifying any questions right now on those that passed. All proposals that passed will be clarified in-depth starting with the November Issue of COONHOUND BLOODLINES.

Enjoy, but remember to keep it cool even when they might not have all went in your favor.

I KNOW. I JUST HAVE TO POST STUFF WHILE I'M THINKIN ABOUT IT OR I WILL GET BUSY AND FORGET MY ?'S. LOL.

There are thousands of people that want the countdown passed and everyone knows it makes perfect sense. Who are these idiots that keep voting against it? Are they made up? Who are they?
