LOL! OK, but seriously, hunting a started pup in a nite hunt is a BAD idea. If you would have drawn a trash running dog or a ill mannered dog you could have done some serious damage to your pup! I think the previous post was right about staying close to your dog and when he trees making sure he stays there. Also shooting a coon out to him might not be a bad idea either. Investing in a scope and some glasses may help too.
