I don't think so, poor behavior is poor behavior. No matter what species you're talking about. Poor behavior is not tolerated. Dogs don't get a choice. Stop it the first time it happens and it won't become an issue later.

Ain't this fun.I will admit that many times when hunters complain about a mean dog at the tree ,it's because they're making excuses for the lack of a tree dog. But,if you really want to hear some pitiful crying,go to the tree where the hunter with the mean dog, that knows he's mean and is always bragging about how he can take it,and something has put him off of it.It's pitiful, ain't it funny how things change when these great hunters with these great, powerful, pressure tree dogs are on the other side of the question.

Not getting pushed off a tree can a will cause a dog to get scratched for fighting and wrote up. Whats worst minus tree points or the alternitive? Every one has there own ways of looking at things, doesn't meen any certian person is right or wrong. Unless its my opinion then its always correct.........lol

Then he will still be at the tree when I get there wont he!

Why is it when ever you hear about a mean dog it always involves blowing? What about the tree jackin idiot's they don't start fights? You never hear anyone complain about them, its always the blower that is mean never the tree jacker.

You want to know the way to make a dog mean? Start winning at local hunts with it, then it only wins because nothing can tree with it.

I ran a little female that "WOULD" not be put off a tree, this female also hunted with pup's and old dogs alike with out any problems, but don't try and run her off the tree cuz she isn't going any where and that my friend is a promise. Like was stated above I will work on the not getting caught during the week.

Having said all that I will NOT have a mean dog don't like a mean dog, but my dog will be at the tree when I get there.

Opinions and excuses are just like glass, 'you sure can see through them' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every post on here, you can tell who will tolerate or will not tolerate. You can tell who has and who don't have. You can tell who cares about the people and the other dogs he hunts with and who don't care. You can tell who cares about bettering their breed and who don't. You can tell who lets money sway them and who don't.

Just think of a 'blower' as being like a rattlesnake rattling. If he rattles and you don't run, then he will bite you. So it is with dogs that 'blow'. That's just the rattle before the bite.

If you have to work on that during the week that tells me what you are packing! My dog won't be run off the tree either but he won't fight back. I was on a cast 2 weeks ago that 2 dogs was tied up like a pretzle rolling around the tree bumping the other 2 dogs and they were still all buisness chop chop chop while the other 2 went to the house. I won that cast and quailified my dog for the world hunt. Now am I glad my dog won't get involved? dang skippy he would of went home and ben wrote up with them other 2. And the worst thing about it was the fighters was good anough to win the cast. And no I didn't win just because they fought I was in the lead anyways.

Something that hasn't been talked about here is how much the owner influences the dogs behavior. My policy is simple. First time I see my dog face bark I will hit him hard enough with an open hand to roll him. Second time he gets a bullet. Don't matter if it's the tree, chow dish, etc. Guess that's why I can run the most obnoxious pup with either of my old dogs and never have any issues. I very seldom have to discipline, but this is one issue that will get addressed.

Thats a good post bandit ! I think dogs and children are simular in the way you raise them. If you let your kids get there way and talk back at a young age its going to get worst by the time they get to be teenagers. Sometimes dogs just have that agressiveness in there dna and I don't think anything but a bullet will cure them. Then you have that blind owner that refuses to see wrong and won't correct it.
