You will not be seeing her in the winners circle, but if you want to see her operate here in these hills you are welcome to come for a hunt. I give credit only when fur is seen on ground. No circle fur when I am hunting.

Scared to take her to the dance ...figures. Is this what we can expect from the Hammer line ? ...... a bunch of junk that can't even compete at the local level much less the big hunts.

Dirtdevil,

One good way to settle this is go to Kentucky and go hunting.

Go see her go. Take your best, then come and report.

There is usually a good write up and pics of the final cast of the World Hunt each year ...Autumn Oaks ...Winter Classic..etc.

But John isn't a competition hunter.

I'd like to hunt with Sadie, myself.

Anyone who has a dog as good as Hammerman describes will show it off .... competition hunter or not ..."I don't competition hunt " = " My dog is junky" .

I don't know that I agree with you.

I have been known to have a fair hound tied out back, and I haven't been to a Nite hunt in nearly 10 years, or rather I haven't entered one.

I hunt year round, winter and summer.

I hunted 25 nights last month; I keep records.

I am a pastor, and it isn't real practical for me to be out all night on Saturday nights. I have a Dual Ch. female out back. She was born at my house, but I didn't put the titles on her.

Not everybody that has a coon dog puts it in the hunts. I agree, the old-fashioned hard pleasure huter may be a dying breed, but we're not all gone yet, and I suspect John Vaught is one of that kind.

You may not care for his plain-spokenness, but I'll bet a dollar to a donut hole he is packing a coon dog.

Looks to me like you have been called out there Dirtdevil? And the fella calling you out, aint hiding behind a screen name either. Do you have a problem with Vaught or those Hammer dogs? I would put the Hammer nite hunt record beside yours anyday and we could all see wich one is longer roflmao. Just a thought that came to me sittin on a stump tonight. Oh by the way let us all know how your hunt in Kentucky goes. Dave

Way back when the great Sprng Creek Rock was at his best Hammer III. won the Autumn Oaks then considered the world hunt against the great Spring Creek Rock, and they where in the same cast.Yeah I know you are just a beginner, and have things to learn about dogs of different breeds, and things to learn yet what a real coon dog is, but as time goes by you will pick up on things, and then look back to say I just thought I knew what a coon dog is suppose to be like........Hang in there time will take care of your problem
