Alright... I've let Joe have his fun in responding to all these great questions, now let me take a shot!
First of all, Joe and I both very much welcome constructive criticism, which is why we ourselves post questions and comments for feedback. BUT, if you phrase your criticism in the form of a question, expect us to answer.
One, giving something "a sporting chance" simply means making it harder on yourself, which Dustin was doing. But not making it harder on yourself, does not automatically mean a "non-sporting" chance. It just means less difficult for you. I use a tracking collar on my dog so it's less difficult to find, that doesn't mean that I have taken a non-sporting approach to hunting with my dog!
Two, cut-throat simply means not acting in a teaming manner. As explained many times before, it does not mean cheating or necessarily unsportsmanlike, it just means not helping others. If you don't believe me, ask Merriam Webster.
Someone please find me a farmer that's not going to let you hunt their land because you're going to kill off all their precious rabbits!?! If any land owner was concerned about the amount of killing going on, I don't think they would allow hunting period. You guys are either getting way to critical or are just trying to pick an argument.
Walker dogs... I hunt Walkers and so does Joe, so you're going to see Walkers on the end of our lead-straps. If a Bluetick or Black and Tan (etc. etc.) owner spent their hard earned money and time to produce a show about their sport, I bet you would see a lot of their breeds on the show. And when our hard earned money, or that from other sponsors, doesn't get the job done and a Walker (or Redbone) owner decides to help us out, I'm not turning them away because they don't meet a diversity requirement. But it seems to me that this show is about the sport, not the color of the dog. If you can't see past the collar of the dog, then aren't you discriminating as much as anyone that would only want to showcase Walkers???
Types of hunts... we are blessed with a multitude of invitations to different types of hunts each week. But we can only air 13 episodes per season and lack the funds to travel all over the countryside filming different types of game. And based on this thread alone... if it could be in any way interpreted as controversial, then I'm not filming it and taking the beatings.
Brad Hall, josh, nytrobud, hjames888 and trubluefordman - Thank you!
