So you think a pack of 'yotes can't take your male down?

Not saying that at all. I've had some friends get dogs tore up pretty bad, I've seen what they can do. But that was my only personal experience with one.

Strange thing, I've never heard or seen them there before or since then, and I hunt the place pretty regularly.

I not saying that either. I know a pack of yotes could, that's why when he starts chasing a single yote across the country by himself towards where I've heard others yelping and howling I always call him back. But, one on one, I don't think there are many yotes that could handle him and with my two females for backup, I think he'd have a pretty good shot at holding his own against a small group of them.

Amen Plottchaser, Hunt Plotts ! My dad had one come in to the tree while he was squalling, looking for a coon dinner. He got the idea to try it in the am, it works good, he's called in 6 now with the coon squaller. Don't know if it'll work as well in other parts of our great country, but it seems to work well in the northwoods of PA. I've only had them mess with my Plotts once.....the yotes found out that it wasn't a very good idea.

idk about you all but i did notice something about them yotes. git a deep voiced dog and they wont attack for some reason. if they are like wolves the deeper the voice is the alpha thinks that the other male might be able to gain control of his pack. now they will yip all around but wont come into a male dog. a male i hade a while back did git jumped by one., had a huge gash down his side. another 2 incehs would have tore his guts out. looked in the sand where the fight was later on that nite, and something caught my eye, 3 feet. i caught that one in a trap and he pulled the stake. he has a left foot missing. and he is HUGE! that yote goes about 75-80 pounds. he looks like a freeken cross bred wolf/ coyote to me. i had one jump on a female i ran back about 5 years ago and she was too fast. shed out run em. one time though one did latch her, and she pulled hair back. she killed him. they went into the brush and he never came out. went into there and the yote was dead. that same dog and her daughter pulled hair out of one that jumped them one night on the tree. yote went back around the hill and they started treeing again. but those were singled out coyotes. 1 dog dont stand a chance against a pack.
