Go to the Black and Tan board. You will find some good dogs and better people. Not bashing any breed or the people that own them, but the Black and Tan breeders are a close bunch of guys. They usually will try to steer you in the right direction. Good luck.

I hunt Walkers but I hunted Black and Tans for years..
There are good ones, and bad ones just like any breed.
I had 1 that got killed by a car in `91 that was as good as they get,she opened quick, drove a track and was a accurate hard treedog! When she got killed it really took it out of me for a while, anyone that ever had that happen to them knows what I mean.....
I would like to have another good Black dog again,I know there are good ones out there.

Of all the coonhound breeds (except Leopards) the B&T is probably the breed I've hunted with the least. 3 dogs come to mind that I've seen do a nice job on coon. 2 were 3/4 sisters. Knowing that I've only hunted with a handful yet have seen some good ones makes me believe the odds are in favor that finding a nice B&T is much easier than some of the other breeds.
Can't say I've ever wanted one, but never say never either.

good and bad

as many people have stated before there are good and bad in any breed. its all on what you like. I myself hunt with black dogs and prefere a black dog over any other breed but thats just me. black dogs and the guys that hunt them seem to be the old fashioned type of dogs and people and I would rather run with that crowd. once again it's all in what you want!

DONT JUDGE

You would not judge a race of people by one person so why judge a breed of hounds by one dog. Its been said on here over and over there is good and bad in all breeds of hounds just like there is good and bad in all races of people.

Pretty dogs, nice mouths, nice dispositions and if i ever want a hound to lay on the porch and look cool it will be a B&T.
