Matt, I have used the double leather collar's with the stud's like Jim mentioned for ever on the permanent resident's here. They get a new collar & it last's their whole life. I use the two inch model's on our male's & the inch & a half model's on the ladies. I still have "Toad's" collar & it's still usable but I won't.

I'm a lil old school I guess but you won't see plastic or nylon on our hound's. Nothin make's me gag more than seein a nice lookin hound with a butt ugly neon green or blue collar on them but it is a personal preference thing so to each their own.

I get'um rite from Nite Lite & have never had a problem with any of them. A collection of hound's with uniform "Chrome" on them look's groovy to me.

I agree Mr Downing, they are snazzy lookin collars, but Nite Lite has turned me off them. I may try one again from someone else...

I have a couple real heavy, 2 1/2 inch collars with 3 rows of brass studs on them. I cant remember where I got them, but they have been in service for over 10 years. I replaced the name tags once. I wish I could get more of em.

collars ...

I was at a swap meet in northern Ia a couple of years ago, I bought 4 collars (leather) ... with tags! - they were (Are) good collars - paid like $ 6.50 each .... still using them ... I would never pay $45 for a collar ... do the math ... thats 7 brand new collars ... I have never had one break ... but ... I do not chain out my dogs I kennel them so the collars dont get stressed like they would on a dog that is chained out ....

Leerburgs Amish made collars are by FAR the best I have ever bought. I use them on My hounds as well as my protections dogs. I also have their harness's and leads. never had one fail and I had some strong pullers on the end of them. . All leather is not the same. he has a video on his website on how they are built as well. Just a thought.
