Dandy Tom
The 1st day we started this cat with some young dogs, and things went slow in the rocks at first, but then out around the mountain they went. We were able to get around on a ridge above them and got to listen to the race. They ran him for a few miles and treed, but then things blew up, and the dogs advanced to the west about another mile, and some dogs were out of hearing. Over the next couple hours, one by one they started heading back in the direction we turned loose, and we picked up all but 2 dogs that night and headed home. Next morning we walked in the "A" team thinking that whatever hung up the young dogs, the "A" team could work through it. The dogs flew out of there and within a half hour were out of hearing. I snowmobiled around and could hear them plain. They sounded hung up, so Clint & I walked in to them, and this is what we found.

Rocket was hung up on this cliff slide area. Dixie and Lager were still circling to try to pick up the track. Down to the left in the bottom of the rivine is a sink hole, and that is where the lion escaped. Clint made a big circle and tried to pick up the lion track leaving, but he hadn't. The next day we left him alone, and treed one of the females. We went looking for his track leaving on day 4. My dad found his track crossing the road in some elk tracks about a mile NW. We put Lucky and Lager down, and after a slow start and potty breaks, they fogged it outa there, over the ridge, and through the next deep canyon, and up the other side, and treed. After snowmobiling around getting above them, things blew up and around and up the valley out of hearing they went. After a few minutes, here they come again and treed again not far from where they were treed the 1st time. I'm sure there were more sink holes in the area, but he didn't get to use one this time. A local kid that is a senior in high school was there to shoot him. He is jacked!!! The cat weighed 167 lbs. and was 7'4 1/2" long.

This cat was missing one of his canines, and a couple small teeth between the canines. Enjoy!!!
