Train them for house life? Let them sleep in the bed? Let them ride in the front of the truck?
You have got to be kidding.
No way would a dog of any breed be in my house for any reason,and dang sure would not be allowed in my bed nor ride in the front of my truck.
I guess you people that want to do that and treat them like a person in a way go right ahead.
I'll keep on leaving them outside where they belong.And having them ride in the dog box like the should.

i know alot of people whos dogs are house broke and still great hunters yeah some leave them outside and say there a hunting dog and not a house dog, but then again i guess its just all on how the dogs are trained i dont see anything wrong with letting your dog in maybe thats because most the people i know dogs are more than just dogs to them

Several years ago, I placed a rescued coonhound with a family that lives in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. The woman wanted a dog who could handle her "training" runs as she is a competitive distance runner.

The dog had been surrendered for not hunting, but he had the stamina of a true coonhound! I should know...I lost him one day and spent nearly two hours tracking him in the woods. I sure wish he would have treed something! It might have slowed him down long enough to catch him!

In addition to living in the house, he also participates in formal agility...Another activity that requires an energetic and physically sound dog.
