Yes, everything was AIed.

And we went through literly CASES of vacine every week.

That 1 farm produces about 80,000 wean pigs a year. The MO system produces over 1 million per year.

Forgot to mention I was also in charge of the nusery/finisher that held several hundred gilts for replacements (about another 1000 total).

I would say the highlight of my tenure, was working 1 on 1 with the owner and founder of Intervet on a gilt development program that had far reaching effects past our own little farm. I loved those trials, and being a source of practical advice to people of that caliber.

It was my understanding that there is now no state in the union that requires a yearly rabies vac. Arkansas and Alabama were the last hold outs and they passed new laws just this year changing the requirement to 3 years. I believe the door was left open, though, for local ordinances to require it more frequently.

I do know that there is no 1 year rabies serum produced anywhere in this country and hasn't been for several years. They just packaged the 3 year serum with a 1 year label for the states that still required it yearly.

Also, consider this: The CDC declared canine rabies eradicated in this country back in 2005, I think it was. Rabies in other species can still be transmitted, though and a canine rabies vaccine is only about 50% effective in preventing cross species transmission.

On titers - most of the vets I've talked to about testing for them are of the opinion that they are pretty useless unless the dog has been exposed recently. I haven't bothered with them.
