That place is coon heaven compared to where we live aint it, Jeremy? If they are packing any kind of dog power, they will have no trouble treeing coons.

everyone wants to talk about feeder buckets and how the people that hunt on them buckets have home field advantage, what about the dogs up north that get hunted in those corn fields and bean fields and get shocked when they get in them and get taught not to get in a bean field or corn field instead work around the edges, these dogs from south don't know what bean fields and corn fields are, is that not home court advantage. plain and simple if you are packing a coon dog they should be able to win anywhere no matter what the terrain or the conditions. the great white hope from indiana has yet to prove it again, it doesn't where he is at in this country if he is there and hunting my money is on him. good luck the rest of the week brian

You need to re-evaluate who you get your information from. It is illegal to bait, and chase game in Tn. Night hunt or not!

north south east west who cares, coondog is a coondog no matter where you put them, dogs from the south win in the north and dogs from the north win in the south ,i know a dog from iowa won the world a few years ago when it was in the south so ya it can be done ,feeders or no feeders they still have to strike and tree,

GA DAWG,

Any time you are up here you are welcome to come hunt with me. I hunt nearly 100% state land, and in December before the rut starts the dogs up here will make you feel at home. There will not be any golf cart trails, and a change of clothes is often wise.

Of course you may need snow shoes too.

Hey Steve, I do plan on going up there saturday. I'll look for you. These critters are a lot cheaper to run than the bird dogs!

My info comes straight from the TN regulation manuel. Here is what the regs say:

Hunting is prohibited over a site where
bait has been placed to feed or attract
wildlife unless all the bait has been
removed at least ten (10) days prior to
hunting.

RACCOON And OPOSS UM HUNTING
Opossum can be taken during the
raccoon hunting season. No limit.
Statewide - Opens sunset Sep. 18, closes
sunrise Feb. 28, bag limit 2 per person per
nightd.
d. Night is defined as one 24-hour period
beginning at sunset.

Racc oon Dog Training
(no taking)
Year-round except where regulated by
Private Acts. The following counties are
regulated by Private Acts: Morgan is open
for training from July 1 until opening day of
the hunting season; DeKalb is open for yearround
training except in the portion lying
south and west of State Hwy. 96 and U. S.
Hwy. 70 where the training season will open
30 days prior to the hunting season. Refer to
specific WMA listings for WMA raccoon dog
training seasons.

If you will notice in the first sections its not illegal to have out feed on private land. You will also notice that TN makes a distinction between "hunting" and "training". Hunting is defined as "taking". In a UKC Nite Hunt no "taking" is allowed its a field trial. You have broken no law!

However, if you plan on killing the coons during a legal season you better romove the feeders at least 10 days prior to hunting that spot.

Just for the record I'm totally against killing game over bait and have total respect for the law and law officers, but you cant read into the law something thats not there. Respectfully.

I just got off of the phone with Wayne Rich the game warden in Jefferson county Tn. He said Training, and or. compitition hunting is concidered hunting!!!! The bait, or food must be removed at least 10 days prior to hunting, training, or competeing. You can read alot in the regulation manual, but you won't find in it anywhere that what you claim is legal.
