I am curious as to where are the pups at off of Big D! I wonder how old the oldest litter is now!

The guys that are knocking Big D for babbling are the same guys that we never see around any where. Sure its nice to turn a dog lose and when he barks he is after a coon. But that's just the way he is, hes wired up. Big D is a coon treeing machine. You couldn't carry all the coons this dog can tree. I don't think because a dog lose barks a man is selling his integrity?? As for plastic trophies, i don't believe he has many. Win slips, well last month he only got two, totaling $16,000. Heck sign me up.

there ya go brent i guess. he lied his way to what is it 60,000 dollars won now. lol before we breed minnie to him i was talking to brian whitted on the phone about him and last winter when everyone in indiana was having problems treeing coons D treed over 100 coons last winter. automatic strike dog, first strike dog babbler, or liar whatever you want to call it. he is still putting coons on the end of it by himself. but hey all you ukc guys have gotta do is have yours by himself and make him recut for a quater and you don't have to worry about the 100 strike.

Im not knocking any dog in particular, im knocking the concept of breeding more loose mouthed dogs wheather they end up under a coon or not.

pretty much sums it up

the fellows that are defending Big D need to go back and read every post on this thread---not once has anyone ever said a bad thing about the dog or called him a babbler--one man did say that his pup out of him was an automatic strike dog--then retracted that statement

attitudes like this are what is wrong with the hunts in general---and by the way, I have beat him before

I have plans of breeding our Ruby female out of Threat to him one day. I have heard alot of good things about him the last few years and I like a open mouth track dog. I can always shock the babbling out of the pups if needed. I want to win for a while with her before I breed her though.

Brett Meyer has a female pup off of D and my Trouble female. They are getting ready to turn 10 months old on the 6th of this month. She has been running and treeing coons on her own for a while now. Brett says she has a good mouth and a pretty good treedog.

I agree with Brent, whenever they get tired of hunting him up north, they should just send him on down here. I wouldn't mind hauling him around for a little while!

I agree, as far as openning on other game, that would be called trashy, i have owned track switching hounds before, but i can tell you they where not opening on every thing they smelled along the way, they knew what they had and thats what they run till they found a coon to tree. some times they got caught messin up and some times they hide it bye treeing a coon I dont mind an open mouthed hound, infact i think some of the hounds we have today are too tight mouthed as it is ..

I only hunted with the dog one time. He got his mouth open quick maybe to quick. I can tell you one thing he was a coon treeing fool. You better be packing a coondog if you are going to beat him because he is one. He may have faults some people dont like but I have never seen one yet that did not have them. I guess if he gets his mouth open quick is a fault to you dont breed to him. Now if you want to breed to a coon treeing coondog do it. I would say if you dont think much of him take the best thing you have and go hunting with him at the end of the night most people will be wanting one like him even if he gets open to quick.

Babblin

Most of the time, (not Always) if a dog is Babbling its because hes behind or he just dont never shut up! iv seen booth kinds but for the most part if a dog is ahead of everything else, and everything else is barking then in my opinion, wich some dont think much of all those behind are the babblers if your dog is not step for step with mine and hes barking guess whose got the loose mouth it aint mine i say shut up and run! boy run!

hate a dog that babbles, babblers get you minused. i want a dog that no matter what on his first bark i'm striking it. where he strikes 30 feet in front of me or 3 miles in there i don't care i just want a dog that no matter what on his first bark you can strike it. and i have one now the only difference is, it is usually followed by a tree call within a minute or so.

from the tail gate to the tree this dog has a coon. I have walked to as many trees as any oen has to him, when big Don owned him we hunted alot together, D was younger then, but dont take anything away from him he was still a coon dog, these pictures are taken down in SC when Scott was hunting him, he had a coon in every tree we walked to, but one, in three nights, it was a den tree... the other picture, well he likes to get his sleep. lol as for the pups out of him. I have raised two, one got hit by a car the other got a broken shoulder in 5 places could not be repaired, both of these pups where running and treeing drags at 5 months of age, both I beleive would of made coon hounds, got some little d's running around, they are to small to tell right now, but got good hopes for them.

Angie you are quite the photographer. If you are ever up in Northwest Ohio, you should look me up so we can do some hunting!
All and all; I only wish that I had some females, so that I could breed to him!

Hunted with this little female last night and I have never seen such a hard hunting puppy before..hunted her with and old female.. the pup got deep by herself and treed a coon and stayed treed for about 25 mins before we got to her..If hes throwing more like this there are gonna be some winners.

I keep saying just put black n tan on big d and he would be a good lookin black dog. lol. alot of people take credit from this dog, and I personally am not a walker person. but I am a person who likes to walk to trees with coons in them.. he can do that..., I beleive from what I have heard and seen out of his pups, they will act alot like him. you get down this way. look me up we will go for a hunt

I remember when he was lost they run an ad and a reward to try to find him.The ad said when he came out of the box he never stopped barking and would bark continously on the leash all the way in and out of the woods.

In my opinion there can be a big difference between a big time winner and a pure coon dog.I like em pure and honest but thats just a matter of preference.

Elvis I like how you shoot.............Straight! LOL

Woody

Donnie Ray, How is Woody doing? That's one dog that is going to compliment Mojo (his daddy) very nicely! I was just thinking about you the other day!! Thanks for the kind words about Double D! When ever you want to give Woody all the coons he wants, you don't ever hesitate to come up again!!
I would love to make it down your way to do some coon hunting and hog hunting!!
