last chance is noon today

If you have not taken the survey it closes at noon.

Once I hear the results I'll let you all know.

Off to Madison for another hearing

thanks to all for taking the time to fill out the survey

just in off the wire

Dear Hunter:

Due to strong public interest and continuing media coverage, the NRB Committee has decided to continue collecting online public comments through Friday July 31, 2009.

However, the Committee will begin reviewing the responses provided by noon Tuesday July 28, 2009. Response data will be updated daily until Friday for the Committee to review additional responses and comments.

The public comment survey can be accessed via the link www.wiherdcontrol.org.

A summary of the overall responses will be posted to the website by the end of the week of August 3, 2009.

The Committee may also make use of ‘snap-surveys’ the week of August 3, 2009 to gauge public support of its final recommendations. To be notified IF and when those are available, register your email address at the www.wiherdcontrol.org website. Those surveys would be much shorter and target specific questions the Committee still seeks public input to help finalize.

nice job, now we'll see where it goes

Just took this off the herd control web site

www.wiherdcontrol.org

7. Other Considerations

Other User Conflicts: Currently, the raccoon hunting season is closed during the 9-day firearm deer season. Raccoon hunting is however open during all other firearm seasons and extensions. To reduce conflict with this hunt, the working group discussed the option of re-opening the raccoon hunting season immediately after the close of deer hunting hours on the Friday after Thanksgiving. This is NOT part of this package, but just another consideration raised by public input from other hunters.

Looks like we are getting noticed.

So did the down time just get shorter? 7 days instead of 10?

Scott

I believe the committee is looking for some way to keep the coon hunters from voting against the whole idea of a 16 day season.
This is not part of any package yet, It came from the herd control web site info for DNR people as background info before they take the survey.

As for "The right to retrieve" we've been working at that brick wall and will continue to do so. There has not been a legislator that is eager to jump on this, they're affeared about stepping on someones property rights, with the trespass law. And believe we need to control our dogs.

i agree 100%. we are outnumbered and outfunded to compete w/deerhunters.
