whatever it takes to win , is what each one of them are out of so speed accuracy tree power and tracking ability these are all traits that these hounds poseses here is the secret , hunting time if you take an athlete that is well rounded every where and you practice 6 nights a week when you go to the game winning is easy, and as far as winning whatever it takes no hesitation, i recall a pro hunt cast a couple of weeks ago and a man hunting a bellar bred dog. crossed the river chest high to get to the hound. and everyone assumed to find a way around, hardwork dedication and ability to stay consistent with your hounds that are well rounded thats what it takes and thats what mr. bellar has owned and bred all of his life, and those are the type of handlers that handle for him,

but hey im just 2nd string, marv im heading to the woods early call me if you want to go

The Pac Man / Rock River Banjo cross that I used to hunt really made ma a believer in that line of dogs.

Ok nobody has mentioned it so I will ask directly. One thing I have heard about them is they tend to be a little ill. Not trying to stir anything up just wanting to know if this has any merit to it or not. I am considering crossing of this blood into my dogs but don't want any "Bad Genes" introduced.

nothing ill just tough, there is a difference between holding pressure from another hound and staying treed on your own coon , and being the instagator and instagator bellar bred hounds are not

Psycho is prolly 90% of that rep if it is a rep at all. And yes, he was hunted to death as a pup in comp hunts all over the country, got ate up by the best and eventually decided enough was enough. He got to be purty tough around the trees. I hunted a dozen pups and young dogs off him, not one of them ever showed it's fangs to anything but a coon.

I have an 18 month old dog off psycho has a big mouth and is very independent. He is also very accurate but will hang up on a track every now and then. I like him well enough to want some more of this blood.

I have a 9 1/2 yr old nt ch out of a son of old Pacman that can flat out run a track ...Not much of a problem breaking him off junk..The one hole in him is his accuracy, only about 50% in company and alone over 90%..I've hunted with hounds out of Bellers strain that were pretty darn good..Wouldn't hesitate to get another one..

out of all the lines of dogs I've hunted for myself or other people the bellar lines are by far my favorite. These are big woods here and if I have to walk a mile to a dog I want to see a coon. I'm on my 4th generation of these hounds I have here and I now have crossed backed into it and added the WC Deamon blood also. Everyone I have owned has been the same if you dont here them in 15-20 minutes get out the tracker because they are treed somewhere they dont know how to check in. And I wouldnt want it any other way.

I have hunted with Bellar dogs since Striker was around and hunted against him. He whopped my ass. Owned a NtCh out of Pac and Miss America and my GrNt now is Bellar on the bottom. Accurate and hunt is what i have always liked about them. Never seen agressive dogs but most will not be moved. Have a young Pycho dog now and he growled once at a tree was shocked and has never done it again. The ones i have had have not been junky, start early and like i said are very accurate. Some could have had a little more mouth is about the only thing i can fault with some. Did notice most had a hairy tail and was told that was common in the Finisher line of dogs.

bellars whats up jack and sodbuster

I've hunted with both these dogs alot. Just hunted with jack two nights ago. They win because the they are 1st strke 1 st tree and have a coon everytime you will not catch these dogs out of shape they get hunted more in a few months than most hunt in a year. These dogs don't make mistakes and niether do there handlers. Mike and Jeremy know there stuff and there's not two other guys id rather turn loose with both pretty good guys

We have one out of Psycho and a Saigon female...so he's out of half brother/half sister heavy Bellar's bred cross. He is a Gr Nt and was the Missouri Federation Final Hunt Champion this year.

Everything here sounds similar to our dog...good nose, can flat run a track, and good about having coons. I have been around 3 Bellar dogs...one out of pacman, one of out Saigon, and this one out of Psycho and they have all been that way. The only other thing I would add is that all three were/are very personable dogs, loved attention, and flat wanted to please you. That can't be said about other dogs I've been around.
