I hope UKC sees this as a wake up call and moves AO to a new place next year.

So, I guess that in Indiana the fire department is no longer allowed to burn buildings or other things for training purposes because the smoke from the burning will kill us all.

Everyone has a opinion. Mine is I would much rather step on a cig butt than step in someone else chewing spit. It also about turns my stomach when Im sitting there eating and someone has a half full 20oz coke bottle they are spitting in. JMO

Nevertheless we now have a 'sin' tax. Taxes are wayyyy to high on cigs & alcohol. If I have to pay the higher tax, then I should be able to smoke & drink anywhere I want to. For the stoners out there, I hear they may be also going to legalize mary jane. I hear there will be a $4.00 per gram tax on it. So now a $100.00 bag will be $212.00 tax included.

Thats the government for ya....

I HATE CIGARETTE SMOKE - however,

I see a growing NATIONAL TREND pushed by those with "power, influence & titles" to push through laws that suit THEIR PERSONAL prefernces. Banning smoking outside is a "reach" but it is symbolic of the moves to take away our ownership rights of animals, and the right to eat meat, fish, poultry & dairy as well as the right to hunt & fish AND to own guns. Little by little, our freedoms are being taken away. I've spent quite a lot of time in Germany. Russia, the Middle East, etc. & I have even gotten into trouble in Denmark for talking with some Danish friends about the rights (while we were on a city bus) of individuals to be entrepeneurs and succeed according to our best abilities while NOT being heavily taxed & suppressed by government.

I agree with you plott power. I"m not trying to argue or say that smokers are bad people. I just feel like I should have the right to clean healthy air and I shouldn't have to smell or breath smoke in public. Public areas inside I say no question no smoking. Outside could be different

I think UKC needs to recheck that regulation. Our fairgrounds here do not permit smoking in the buildings and bleachers, only. They don't regulate smoking outside the buildings or bleachers.

A.O.

If I can't smoke outside in the wide open I'll definitley not be sending in an entry . Also I personally think that nonsmokers that have smoked in the past are the worst complainers of all. I guess smoking is worse than all the dog traders having those pitiful looking trade dogs tied up everywhere & walking off & leaving them tied without water or feed, or the dogs & pups left behind when they go home. That in my opinion is what the law needs to do something about. Lock them up & throw away the key!!! What about UKC registered dogs only on grounds ???

Les, you bring up a very valid point. That is a HUGE problem and it needs to be addressed far more than smoking violations.....

I don't smoke although i used to and someone else smoking in a building or outside doesn't affect me in any way. I do agree with lots of other opinions on here that its a few reflecting their feelings on the majority of the population.

If you want to breath clean air maybe you should consider grounding all jets, closing all highways and roads and telling the farmer to use horses because his diesel smoke is taking away from your "clean air"

It is topics like this all the anti's dream about because there is always gonna be situations where you don't mind stepping on someone elses rights because the smell of smoke stinks or no one needs a rifle like that anyway or pit bulls should be extinct , etc. etc. ,,,,,,,,,,,,, everyone should be very wary of any right they willing allow someone else to lose no matter what it is!!!

I guess I have said way more than i should have.... have a nice day

Those issues and smoking aren't the same, and really shouldn't be compared. No one is saying you can't smoke, just not in public places. There are emmission restrictions on cars, and tractors and engines just like smoking

By allowing people to smoke INSIDE public places take rights away from non smokers.

Thats just it, there are restrictions on emmissions for cars, trucks, tractors, and any other combustion engines. Caffiene, cancer causing beef coffee soda, all those things affect only the person using them, smoking is different. Again no one says you can't smoke, just not in public places.
