The hunt tests are set up for one dog and a nite hunt is a competition hunt. Hunt tests prove the dog can do it alone. A nite hunt is to see if your dog is better than the others it competes against. It seems to have turned into a handler battle now days but it was started because one man said to another "Hey dude my dog is better than yours."

I don't see how its any odds if a dog gets a win or two by itself, just proves they can get under a coon by themselves. Now if they get all or most wins by themselves thats a little bit different ...

There really is no big deal I guess except the nite hunts are for competition. If you don't have any opponents how can it be competition?

If someone enters another dog just so theres 2 so the dog can hunt it still doesn't have compition.

SID DID IN HIS NTCH CAST! LOL. THERE WERE LIKE 5 NTCHS THERE, BUT NO ONE ELSE SIGNED UP. IT WAS 30 DEGREES, POURING THE SLEET, AND WIND WAS BLOWING 35MPH+.

HE DID MANAGE TO TREE 2 COONS AND MINUS OUT DOING IT! LOL. ONE MINUS WAS Q TREE HIM TO QUICK. THE OTHERS HE MOVED. HE WAS FOLLOWING THE COON SCENT I GUESS. HE'D LOCATE Q WOULD TREE HIM, HE WOULD MOVE. BUT THE 2 TREES HE SETTLED ON, HE HAD THE COON.

POOR DAVID WEBB WAS GUIDE AND JUDGE THAT NIGHT, AND HE ENDED UP WITH PNUEMONIA AND I BELIEVE WAS ON THE VERGE OF HOSPITILIZATION.

IT WAS NOT THE MOST FAVORABLE CONDITIONS!
