I have both bought and sold over the internet. I feel like I've fairly described the hounds and pups I've sold, and I feel as if I've bought hounds that were fairly described. I'm not a rich man and I would say that the best scenario is to try a hound and make sure you like him. BUT, that's a lot of times easier said than done. I 've said it before and I'll say it again a lot of times people don't really know they are misrepresenting a dog. THEY JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT A GOOD DOG IS. They are selling what they think is a good dog, because to them it is. Now I'm not talking about lying about papers and dogs having pups those are just lies. There are several on this board that I will buy off there word in a skinny minute if they got what I want. And I would like to think I can sell a good one off my word I have in the past been very successful at it, and I hope they are all happy.
Also as far as dog traders go, be careful, I loaded up went to MS and got my tail waxed by a fellow that is known as a dog trader , barred from some registries, hated by some, liked by others, whether he always tells the truth or not that is for you to determine because he will show them in the woods . And He showed me several that would run and tree a coon ALONE and do it in style. I don't know how he does it. I do always suggest a trial , but if you buy from someone that is truthful and knows what a good dog is you are OK if you like what they are selling. I've always thought it was funny that some people would rather buy from someone over the phone 3 states away with no trial, than to buy a local dog that they are familiar with. I guess that's just jealousy. That's about as bad as lying.LOL Good Luck to all that buy and sell.
