Plus, there are a bunch of members that have left the boards that no longer post. JMO...

you have several ways....

to get a pedigree.....magazine for one. a website just for them....www.worldclassbreeder.com. and ukc could make a board for such, taking it to the same level as their classifieds. there are several running continuous photos as well...they could give to the designated pedigree for that breed. just an idea....and it would help end all the serching to have in a special place on here.

Personally, I like the sigs.

I enjoy reading the names of peoples dogs...ya'll are a creative bunch....and if they've got a website i check it out.

There is enough to worry about then the length of someone's sig on a message board.

And just where do you think those pedigrees come from? They come from folks like me that do the research and enter them in for other folks on world class breeder. You'll see a lot more duplicate posts on here for people asking the same questions every month... Either that or a whole bunch of posts that are "bump"'ed or "btt"ed to keep them alive....

i've posted pedigrees there....

and no big deal. my idea is a pretty good one as far as i'm concerned. and i am tired of the freebies...so are alot of other's but i'm not afraid to voice an opinion. may make a few uncomfortable, but that is the intention. maybe ukc can come up with some ideas that will help.

I have never given it much thought until now...

But, why would you say that this KC board is so much more active than the other KC's? Or other hound related boards as far as that goes.

I for one enjoy this forum and as a general rule, I don't get involved in this kind of conversation that is taking place here...They are really silly to say the least...YOU HAVE CONTROL..USE THE BUTTONS PROVIDED...This thread here, has gone from controlling what some put into there signatures to deleting old useful history from one of the best, most informative forums out there...Sure, there are some other really cool ones to go look at. But they do not cover everything. If it has to do with a hound, I can find it right here. I like this one and so do so many others. I like some of the others as well, but always end right back up here.

I use the SEARCH all the time on here...It would be a shame to loose all of the helpful information that has been provided over the years.

Something else has been brought up that you have CONTROL over....The number of post you want to see when you pull up a forum....IT"S ALL THERE FOLKS !! Look in your "User CP" and check around...Ya might find some neat things in there to mess around with !!

AGAIN FOR THE ONES THAT MISSED IT. THE CONTROL IS RIGHT HERE AT YOUR FINGER TIPS !!

it seems the idea....

has been lost on the original post. a signature that was too long. so ukc decided to try and help out. but at the same time, what about the lonnnnggggg posts that aren't giving any history? i am all for search and history...but some have abused this website and it is too bad. in time, changes by ukc, will offend some. and it is a very useful website, no doubt. my point i wanted to make, is clean it up!! delete the unnecessary stuff....but looks like i am losing the war and haven't even begun the battle....oh well.....

S/S....the reason this board is so much more popular than the other two is because this one doesn't require any kind of verified registration. You can get barred 16 times in one week here and be back the 17th time in less time than it takes to get approved the 1st time on the other two boards.
The other boards get far less traffic but then they also have far less drivel. When you are required to use your real name and havd it verified first, it definately brings in less traffic.

Very good point...I guess I was not thinking of the evil behind all the nonsence...But, screen names don't bother me much either...Number one rule when I got my first computer was to not use your real name when you were on open forums and such because there are so many freaks out there...LOL...

Yea, that is one I never understood as people post their website link (normally has # or address or you find that in the whois lookup on domain names) and phone # in ads.

That info is the one that reveals way more than posting a real name.
