I like a deep hunting dog, but that does not mean go a mile before hunting. That means tree 20 feet in front of me if there are coon and if not go where he may to get treed with a coon. This kinda dog is fun when coon are moving but you may have to buckle up your boots if they are not.

Thats exactly what i had. Hunt them by themselves and tree a coon or check back in in about 20 minutes. Put them together and most nights i was pulling the tracker out to find them treed in quit a ways(I know they passed up some coons for a foot race).

that is mine there. sometimes i wish they would come back but they dont have a reverse. to me if a dog comes back they are coming through ground they have already covered and that is just waisting time. i want to pull them out from under a tree every time i cut em loose
